Roosy: "Deplorable" Dees have "no recognisable brand"
There's nothing wrong with the recipe, we just had staff shortages at the manufacturing plant this year!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
We may as well test Darren Burgess ceiling while we're at it, as he rebuilds the clubs fitness in the off-season. Maybe the bloke works miracles. Even if we "bounce back" next year, we're still going to missing these types of match-winning pieces that push other clubs into the very upper echelon. The Rioli's will still be licking their lips at the prospect of hunting down our one dimensional players next year, even if we rise. While down the other end, we have no livewires that can turn the momentum of a game off the back of a few efforts.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Different scenario, but you only have to look at how Jake Stringer is playing to realize the potential upside or high ceiling of taking on a player with his fair share of issues that could make them lost to the game, and getting it right. Goody is way too safe for it though.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Good team, but I reckon we're one KPF/3rd tall short and I don't think we can rely on T.Smith/Keilty to replace Weid on injury or form. Should be looking to recruit another senior forward that can currently play more consisntently better than Weid can, but should be surpassed in 2 or so years. As a KPF or 3rd tall. I don't have Joel Smith in the team. Player like Essendon have with Shaun McKernan or Mitch Brown. I've said it before but if Josh Jenkins is gettable on a 2 year dael you'd grab him and have him in there. Who else? Richmond had Caddy playing tall in 2017 and he cant get into the their team. Mind is drawing blanks right now Edit: Also need a livewire crumber which if we're being realistic, we could obtain with your Isaac Smith pick, and play Baker on the other wing.

Gold Coast priority pick 2, sorry

Caro on Classified reporting they'd ask for pick 2 and probably get it. Judd and lloyd responding that they'd find it hard to believe pick 2 would be given, more like pick 10.

What to do with Nathan Jones
Wow. Only on Demonland could a player on his last legs at the age of 31 be valued higher than 27 old key forward that's played 18 games this season and kicked 25 goals. And that's not even mentioning the 3rd or 4th round pick needed to get it done. Hawthorn had no issue trading Sam Mitchell or Lewis... Why should we?

Jordan Lewis To Retire this Year
We as in demonland? ? Yes, yes we are.

Brad Hill
As if the AFL follows precedents and not media spun whims. The whole Pick 1&2 GCS issue has arisen solely because Tiny Cochring brought up player retention and the friendship of those two picks with the Media then promoting it. it's up to the other clubs to kick up a stink to prevent it, not trust in the AFL

Brad Hill
Healy just wanted to know if we would be using out first round pick or trading it I think. Doubt he was thinking he'd get a specific answer, just I think testing the waters on our attitude to trade week. Seeing if Mahoney would let something slip. Of course, he gave them nothing but ?shade

Brad Hill
https://omny.fm/shows/sportsday/melbourne-gm-of-football-josh-mahoney-on-sportsday?t=4m33s Morris asks Mahoney about being linked strongly to Brad Hill.. Healy asks about trading Noah Anderson to Freo for Brad Hill (And probably extra picks/players back id expect) Edit: From last thursday, surprised no one posted it.

The Melbourne Problem!
Yup. And sit Viney away from the midfield and put him in the forward pocket as a ferociously defensive minded goal sneak that can help us retain the ball, pinch hit in the middle at times, but all year, hone his kicking and kick 30 for us.

Josh Caddy
26 year old, can't get a game with Richmond currently. I just wonder if we're capable of prizing him away from the Tigers with a decent offer?

They're fulfilling their finals-filler fate by landing in an away final to get monstered by GWS

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Baker or Bolton have been spoken about on the forum this year and when getting a look at both of them on friday, i realised we're no chance. They both look like the kind of nuffies that could only ever play for Richmond or Collingwood due to clubs having a No DH policy. They would probably slack off under Goodwin anyway.

2019 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
They're only asking for PP because the top 2 picks are friends and from the same club re retention. And the media are pushing it. Do you think our club will actually say something to the AFL and demand the 2nd pick ? Or just sit there and let ourselves be you know whatted and be relegated to pick 3

POSTMATCH: Rd 19 vs St. Kilda
Well with a priority pick we should be able to land some good friends at pick 1 & 2 who'll drive the standards and stand up for one another from the get go
-
POSTMATCH: Rd 19 vs St. Kilda
Not even the slimmest chance of recruiting Brad Hill now surely. i can't see any injection of outside pace having much effect if they're not skilled players as Ed Langdon is said to not be. We could use another elite midfielder to pick up the slack for when Clarry is tagged. You'd throw the kitchen sink at Coniglio but he wouldnt touch us with a 10 foot pole.

POSTMATCH: Rd 19 vs St. Kilda
We'll shift some magnets, play well until 3/4 and watch them kick away from 15 to 40 points. Then the turd polishers will pop up from out of the woodwork for the first time in 2 weeks and discuss all of the positive aspects of the match. We'll of course return to rubbish the week later. Rinse and repeat for a few years.

I'm selling razor blades for the new inductees into our slasher club... at an inflated price of course for wasting our [censored] time on debates all year.
