VOTES: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
6 - Max a much better 2nd half 5 - Salem stay fit and healthy 4 - TMac should go around again 3 - Chandler worked hard all night 2 - Kozzie best forward 1 - Trent Rivers reasonable 100th Jack Billings eased out for Riv’s 100th. A lot of sick or injured players tonight or just run out of puff after a disappointing year. Pies had the best 4 players on the ground last night and by some margin.

Laurie Extends for 2 More Years
Shame we weren’t after Gulden.

My 3 word player analysis V Collingwood
Pies - Have our measure. Much more determined. To many guns.

Christian Petracca
Judging from the Ch7 lead in to the game they probably wanted to interview him in the Collingwood rooms.!!

Christian Petracca
Throw in a bit of Blues Brothers as well.😁

Trent Rivers - 100 Games!
Congratulations Trent Rivers your first 100 seems to have come up so quick, young Premiership player who made the back flank his own, now pushing into the midfield and owning that as well. Trent plays with intent, tough, hard, fast, intelligent and skilled with a great personality and love of our club. What’s not to love about this young man.

Agree No. 31 to still reach 65k after all the negative press regarding Clayton, Grundy & JS as well as the heart break with Gus & Tracc and our loss of form it is a great base to bounce back from. We now have all our ducks lined up, a strong draft to look forward to and another preseason for our youngsters and a couple of our injured veterans.

Kate Roffey
Personally I would have liked some fire and passion from our leaders but I get the feeling that the club has circled the wagons and dug in for a fight. Perty came out strong and quashed the Petracca rumours and the Football Dept have locked in Gawn & Viney and also publicly put their arms around Clayton for all to see that he is a much loved and wanted player. I admire that as a team they have refuted all the gossip, shown the press for what they are and sent them on their way and at the same time removed the angst, stress and disharmony in “most” of the supporter group. As for Kate she speaks so well and has obviously had her hands full with non football distractions, however I feel confident that if anyone can get us Caulfield it will be Kate but like all on here I will be bitterly disappointed if we fail again. As mentioned previously Time will Tell.

TRAINING: Thursday 22 August 2024
A huge thanks to WCW, Fritta and Turner and all posters for the in-depth training reports and the wider interpersonal relationships that you have with players, families and footy department. Once the final game is done and dusted it is going to be a long two months. Take care all. ❤️💙

Woey on The Front Bar
The decision to trade Shane took us all by surprise ( shock/horror) one of my daughters actually bought a Pies membership in ‘03 and went to a lot of their games. Sad time.!!

Greg Stafford departs Melbourne
A huge thanks to Greg Stafford came aboard during the massive change process introduced by PJ, PR & SG which eventually led to our finals successes in 2018, 2021-2023 and now has made space for someone else to come in and help reinvigorate the group for future successes. He’s been a great father figure for the team, thanks Greg and good luck in your future endeavours.

Jack Viney Extends Contract Until 2028
Thank you Jack Viney what a great player you are for the MFC and thanks to our FD we have now locked in all our long term key players bar The Judd knuckles McVee but there’s still time. So JV was playing coy after the Suns game didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag. If we look after Jack we may get him through to the magic 300 club, now wouldn’t that be something for the Viney family.😁😁

Garry Lyon brilliant!
I watched On The Couch this morning and was also pleasantly surprised by Gaz’s show of concern and love for MFC, I can see why it rattled a few on here. I noticed that Bucks and Brownie looked happy to see him go on the charge regarding Tracc and Jack. If there was ever a more pertinent time for Gaz to stand up for his club it was now and stand up he did. He offered some sage advice to the club to get around Christian and thrash it out and make it work and then offered the observation that Jack Viney is Red and Blue from the top of his head to the tips of his toes and that he will be staying. So I hope that the club hear him as he is sending a strong clear message and at the same time trying to straighten up the ship so that we can look forward to a much better and united 2025. Thanks Garry Lyon.❤️💙

Jimmy Bartel Leaving GWS Giants
I watched him on footy classified he explained in detail how the cats would dismantle our game plan, we beat them and broke their 7 game winning streak. He was a great player but we need a forward coach with proven experience and as previously mentioned an excellent game day strategist ala Adem Yze.

POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast
Very proud of the whole team yesterday, that is the deepest that we have batted since the Saints game. Never really felt concerned, our centre square work was exceptional, we got the ball in quickly and our three talls all stood up, Melksham is so calm as our forward general and Fritta played up the ground more, his run down the wing with 4 bounces then kicked long to Turner was scintillating stuff. Jack’s game was elite as was Ed’s and Max worked his heart out to give us first use. A great team game, hard, tough and united and we were so full of run that they wilted half way through the third whereas we were still running hard until the siren sounded, great game Dees.!!!
