Forget about it. If he leaves Geelong, the only place he'll go is Adelaide. They want him, have offered a load of $ and he is open to it. He's leaning toward staying though. On top of that, I'm not really sure he's what we're looking for, or should be.

Tom Lynch never played with Goodwin.Was one of Watts' best mates from juniors, but not reall similar players. Was drafted by St Kilda in 2008 and went to Adelaide at the end of (I think) 2010. Good 3rd tall, probably a better option than Dawes. Kicked 10 against GWS last year or the year before. Will be ok once he wakes up from the hit Viney put on him. Doesn't have amazing awareness, but great courage. Like a shorter less unco Kozschitzke. Would much prefer the GoldCoast version, but that would never happen. Star. Edit: chaser already said a fair bit of this.

I also got that feeling. Howe may have seen the light & commenced negotiations. A public announcement needn't be held for that to happen.

I'm sure Viney maintains the mindset of "lost your rag, have you mate? Please, step into my office..." Playing the game in that manner is where he feels at home. He doesn't get rattled.

Might not work this time, but hopefully will make an impact for next time.

This is partly where personality comes into play re: recruitment. Do you want to recruit another KPF who wants to be the man? An alpha? Or do you now set your sights on a B-type personality, who is happy to play second fiddle and sacrifice his own performance in order to make the forward line work like a well-oiled machine? One who is happy to be a part of the success rather than drive it? (When in fact driving it in their own way)

I hope the kid proves to be good enough for us to use a rookie pick on, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Was considering starting a new thread for this, but it might as well go here: If we had a "press red for dees" match on Foxtel, who would we as supporters want the commentary team to be? So far I've only come up with... Garry Lyon, David Schwarz... Dr. Turf? Gets a bit thin about there. You'd need some comedy in there, so maybe Hamish Blake or Ryan Shelton? Rob Sitch probably wouldn't stoop to it. It would be great to have a Max Gawn on the field and another in the commentary box.
