  1. I reckon this also.
  2. Jonas will be 31 next year. Looked cooked on the weekend. Lienert will either be traded or delisted. Barely played this year. Clurey played 1 more AFL game after we beat them. Spent 2nd half of the year in the SANFL. McKenzie is not even a key back and more of a flanker, especially at 191cm. But due to lack of defensive talls he had to go play on Naughton who slaughtered him. He was a delisted free agent pick up depth player and will be 30 next year. Alir is the only decent defender for them. But he's not a lockdown defender they desperately need and Petty fits that.
  3. Port will throw big cash at Petty. They're in desperate need of quality key defender.
  4. Seriously love this. Rarely do we ever get Garry Lyon interview on the MFC website. Well done Benny Gibson.
  5. Was he actually out of contract this year? Signing on means this will take him to 200 game club. Well done Tommy. Anyone know last play that did that?
  6. 2000 reminds me exactly like 2018. Went on the emotional roll towards the back end of the year and came up against a pretty red hot West Coast and Essendon. Both teams were young and immature with some good mix of experience. We're so much more mature and experienced then those two years. 1998 was the one that really got away from us..
  7. What a fantastic article. You do fwel his parents though not being able to be there on the day. They'll just have to wait until next year.... 😉
  8. This is a good point. I think the club would like to really have a look at Bailey Laurie next year who's very skilful by foot and plays that high half forward role. Melksham has never been quick, but his smarts and IQ had made up for that. But I think even that's catching up to him. There is a theme when you're playing in Melbourne's forward 6 and that is you've got to bring immense pressure and tackling. Unfortunately again this hasn't been a strong part of Melkshams game. Even if he cannot find a home next year he's still a good experienced depth option to have.
  9. Would suit GC or North Melbourne. Adds experience and leadership. At his age he'd be worth a late 4rd round pick or 4th.
  10. WJ I'm a fan of Caro and always have been. She's one of the very few journo's that gets more right then wrong. But it really is a nothing story. Sam McClure jumped in last night after the story broke out and said he was at training yesterday and stated he couldn't believe how happy the boys were joking around and being jovial. Gary Pert was on SEN and pretty much confirmed there were no issues with it. It's clickbait rubbish because there is nothing else to talk about in the week off.
  11. Was shaking my head in complete disbelief when I watched this last night. Just a real nothing story.
  12. Forward Sam Weideman remains the Dees' highest priority re-signing for next year with the key forward out of contract. – Callum Twomey
  13. CONTRACTED DEMON OPEN TO MOVE MELBOURNE forward Jake Melksham is open to moving to a third AFL club despite being contracted to the Demons for next year. Melksham joined the Demons at the end of the 2015 season after being originally a top-10 draft pick at Essendon. It is understood clubs are aware Melksham, who has played 12 games this season and is contracted at the Demons for 2022, would be open-minded about a switch after being squeezed out of Melbourne's first-choice forward line. The 30-year-old most recently played in two of the Demons' final three games of the home and away season, kicking three goals across those games, but has not featured in its finals side.
  14. I forgot where I read it, but It was something along the lines of the reasons why the coaching staff moved Petty back to the backline was to more so protect his body a little bit from the crash and bash as they felt his groin injury from last year was resulting in being overworked the year before as main key forward. The other key aspect was that they rated him enormously down back, but also like that he now is now well versatile that if they need to swing him forward they can.
  15. Bayley Fritsch on Bob and Andy. https://player.whooshkaa.com/episode?id=904411
  16. Outstanding work @1 red eye 1 blue eye
  17. It's a big ask for a kid. I don't think we can heap that kind of pressure onto him on a significant day. Look to Alex Neal Bullen or James Harmes i reckon.
  18. Also loves the Melbourne lifestyle. I can't see us doing this Cerra trade. We have no draft selection to please Freo. As much as Freo keep asking for Jackson he ain't leaving at all.
  19. I would too. Harmes when he's half forward?
  20. Ben King goes alright..
  21. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/dees-to-go-full-on-in-match-simulation-in-grand-final-build-up-20210915-p58rvm.html?fbclid=IwAR2HuBcrwXoq27lZadQYi6Pv8OR0AM6FyAw_gMNl2Rnvez6KxApq8H-f2q8 Steven May moved well during Wednesday morning’s session, with no strapping on his injured right hamstring, and is a certain starter for the grand final, barring another mishap. But Jayden Hunt, who has now returned to full fitness from an ankle injury, is pressing his case and remains a huge chance of being the 23rd man.
  22. I have no idea. The issue with Weideman is that it's obvious he takes things to heart pretty easily and that head just drops when he makes a mistake. When he does that it affects his game and that's him gone for the day I think it's definitely a psychological thing. I'm sure he sees a sports psychologist but maybe he needs Goody just to give him some clarity and tell him they'll back him in over the summer and Mark Williams takes him under his wing and just install some much needed confidence.
  23. I've been a big believer of this as well and have been for a while. I look at the Jayden Hunt situation this year where he's pretty much played all season and contributed immensely to the position we are in now and doesn't feel right that he's pretty much missed out.
