WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM

I can see him being a great player for Melbourne. Far exceeding his Essendon days. -
The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
DemonLad5 replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
My 6 year old told me he's staying. -
Didn't think it needed its own thread but if he's (Hartung) available we ask the question. EXACTLY the player we need and would be absolutely huge for us. Probably give up our 2017 1st rounder or 2 2nd rounders
-
Exactly. Pretty sure the FD have a job for a reason.

Look at the Giants compared to Gold Coast. You can see what happens when you surround your youth with experienced heads, compared to when you don't. Promise you the recruitment of Dal Santo, Thompson types will help our youngsters development immensely

Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?
DemonLad5 replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Tom Campbell from the Dogs would be a GREAT get. Probably isn't a #1 ruckman, but has a great pair of hands and can kick a few snags. Could split the ruck 30/70 with Gawn. Doesn't need to ecumulate high numbers but could just have 10 disposals and 1goal to go with 10 hit outs to have a sizeable impact. I like to think we could emulate the Hawks' 2015 premiership forward setup- Hogan = Roughead Gunston = Watts Schoenmakers = Weideman Ceglar = Campbell he could cost as little as a 3rd rounder -
Suggesting we'll get the spoon next year?

Mitch Clark - did we dodge a bullet?
DemonLad5 replied to thesleepinggiant's topic in Melbourne Demons
Freo dodged a bullet. Geelong gave up Varcoe who wanted out anyway. We gave up pick 12 for a bloke getting mega money and only playing 15 games in 3 seasons. Pretty sure we were hit by the bullet -
This guy would cost a 2nd rounder while Thompson will be for free and will ease into a coaching role
-
Scott Thompson - Would we welcome him back?
DemonLad5 replied to The Backyard Charizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
Our midfield's main strength is contested ball but lacks speed. Thompson move just would make zero sense from a playing sense. Coaching is a different story -
Scott Thompson - Would we welcome him back?
DemonLad5 replied to The Backyard Charizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
He plays wing and off half back. His skill set suits neither of these roles. He's not overly quick and doesn't have great disposal or decision making. He should be a run with player and nothing else. His role has confused me all year. -
Scott Thompson - Would we welcome him back?
DemonLad5 replied to The Backyard Charizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
Really? I was thinking he would help develop our inside mids -
I think a bit harsh on Stretch, only his 2nd year and is still 19. Shows great poise, speed and decision making and is a big part of our future. Hogan had some poor games but I think it's more because we rely much less on him. Not to mention he's in his 2nd season and is only 21. Again harsh on Dom Tyson. Judged harshly throughout and his final 12 weeks were elite Otherwise spot on. Great work this year Joeboy
