  1. I'm back from Tassie. In my opinion Uncle Bitter would make an excellent teacher. On that subject I noticed in Launceston there was a Steiner school. My question is .........How is it we fought two world wars to have a German education system?
  2. Thanks Uncle Bitter. I'll write a detailed report on the Spirit of Tasmania when I get back. I know you will be dying to hear about what I get at the duty free shops.
  3. I am into nature Moony big time. In fact I think the only hope for saving nature is a new party I am going to form a new party....'The Green Fascist party.' I haven't discussed my idea with Pauline Hanson yet but I think she will love me. The Greens are just too wishy washy now and need a new strong leader. I have some great sketch ideas for uniforms....Green with high boots (synthetic, look alike leather.) Yes Biff TV...it's awful here. The best tv in the world is in Italy. They have stacks of great shows...like game shows and stuff, with funny presenters and lots of girls. If only we could get Silvio Berlisconi to take over the ABC here I would be rapt. Govenor Arthur... late 1830 to ordered a massive six-week military offensive known as the Black Line, in which 2200 civilians and soldiers formed a series of moving cordons stretching hundreds of kilometres across the island in order to drive Aboriginal people from the colony's settled districts to the Tasman Peninsula in the southeast, where it was intended they would remain permanently confined.[5][6][7] (Wikipedia)
  4. Thanks for the heads up on the monkey business. I'm also going to Launceston to try and get away from the Food channel. I've been watching it a lot ....all night.....I'm addicted...... and it makes me want to eat all the time. I'm turning into a lard person. I think we should start a thread here ......Ban the Food Channel. I will certainly be bringing up the Food Channel on every thread from now on. I can't for the life of me understand the weirdos on this site who want to stick to the thread topic. I mean I've been a paid up Melbourne member continuously since 1963 and find the club and stuff interesting ................but ....... this Food Channel issue.........people here need to review their priorities. Besides there are some fat players or possibly becoming fat players, who obviously need our help. Like Chunk and Pedo.
  5. You sort of can. It means you have to stay in the car boot all day below decks.
  6. What's this rubbish about Tasmania having monkeys? Come on next I suppose there will be lions and elephants as well.
  7. I'm going to Launceston, One of my Aunties friends told me it is a very raunchy town.
  8. No Tyson. How is his knee? I didn't see Lewis there either unless the hats and lack of familiarity make it hard to pick him. Great pics...not long to go now....getting excited....just like every January.
  9. Tom Wills 'flooded' his backline captaining Geelong in the 1860's...and was considered a poor sport for doing so..(Blainey) Terry Wallace.didn't invent flooding. As soon as you walk out of the Jolimont train platform......there is the football ground of 1858 + right in front of you stretching all the way down the hill to the stadium. Big crowds stood on the hill right where the rail line now is to watch. A few reportedly 10,000 +....a huge crowd ....the big numbers finally forced the MCC to allow the game on the cricket ground. The little kick and mark was widely used. That is a kick of as little as one or two metres. Out of bounds on the full..this was where a group of players would throw an opponent out of the field of play or lodge them high in a tree.

  11. You are right Pates.........A tv/Broadcast issue....so who can't work out which team is which?
  12. What clash? I do not see any clash. In 55 years I have never seen a Melbourne player kick the ball to a (for eg. ) Carlton player because he mistook the colours......or Essendon...or Richmond.....what was wrong with black (home) and white (away) shorts...nothing.
  13. This news is just so exciting I will have difficulty sleeping tonight. Yawn.
  14. When I was his age I was pulled over by a nice policeman in Hoddle st. I was a bit drunk, stoned as well, with a car load of girls (and boys) all happy as Larry. He said that I should leave the car and that we should all get a taxi home. That was it. 1971. I know things are different now . All that year the police in Carlton would stare at us as we produced our drivers licenses...laughing our heads off......tripping on acid. You could see the cops thinking....."they're not drunk....??..young people are weird." What a load of rubbish this new be good era is. Paul Van der Ha and Bret Crosswell would agree.
  15. My cat reckons this is a certainty...I can tell by the way it moves its paws.
  16. We would have been happy to have Thompson on a one year deal but Lewis.......3 Years......he is only 29....this is exciting. Think I'll go and play my personal trombone uncle bitter.
  17. Little has more money than the AFL and I think he is 'helping' Robbo with his articles.
  18. Use what we've got. By my calculations if Ben Newton was trained to stand on Kennedy Harris' shoulders they would be about 3 m 40 tall.........easily the biggest ruck combination in the competition.
