I was actually interested in thoughts about the last quarters. The presser / first quarter reference was just a sort of context introduction to that, which I now regret...

This has probably been touched on elsewhere, but not overly obviously. In Goodwin's presser yesterday, he made a point that the first quarter needs to be got right. But what about this in the first 5 rounds?... Us 1.2, them 3.4 Us 1.2, them 8.1 Us 2.2, them 6.2 Us 0.3, them 4.2 Us 2.2, them 5.1 Yep, the last quarters, outscored by 20 goals. Little to no media questioning. Little to no acknowledgement.

'What are the best results for the Demons?' ...i.e., that keep us somehow remotely in touch. It's come to that, hasn't it 🥺

This may have come up before, but, in an interview with the Club, Russian referred to Will Verrall as 'Fish'.

Thanks, GD. All I was getting at was that it was possible (likely?) that today, at least, wouldn't have advanced the players to a 'they'll turn' tipping point.

Didn't see the game, and probably won't, now, but good to see Lindsay featuring.

How do we assess 'given their all' today and where it is relative to such a tipping point? Regardless of how much we are amazed at our players' energy and efforts, Viney, in his interview, was at some length suggesting he hadn't, then went on to suspect others had been in the same boat. And, despite the 'everybody has problems' argument, Goodwin's choice (risky?...) to mention Gawn's 'life beyond football', and the caring way and length he spoke about it, suggest it was particularly significant for Max's temperament. So Max, too, I think, would not think today was a 'gave-my-all' step to the tipping point.

Goodwin in his presser, on not taking advantage of the 3rd quarter forward entry dominance: 'We got straight-line bomby; not the way we train'. So, either the do train that way, and the players are responsible for its mis/application; OR Goodwin is wrong about the fact and/or effectiveness of the training. Poll?
