  1. No winklepickers, but what I'm lacking in penetration, I'm making up for in repetitions. 🥾🥾🥾🥾🥾🥾🥾
  2. Will clock up 200 this year. That'll be career match-day kilometres approximately enough that'd get him back to Perth. 👏
  3. Couple of things in that report: * It's not 'an oval'; it's a footy, surely! * it's not a setting sun; the shimmering bottom half means it's a rising sun, over the Pacific. Credibility points deductions.
  4. ...and you aren't imagining it! Methinks it is just part of has dastardly clueing! So, fear not, @Lucifers Hero!
  5. Couldn't happen to a nicer four teams, travelling early, interstate, 'hot'wards.
  6. Yep, seems like we 'got our man'!
  7. ...and what's the betting for a 5-day turnaround for it, on Easter Thursday...
  8. Here's the interview: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/1690667/season-review-maeve-chaplin?videoId=1690667&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1731135600001 Interesting that she notes, openly, that, 'we had a game style change half way through the season'. Coaching awareness, flexibility and courage that I hope filters in to the men's program where many on here feel it's needed.
  9. Is NT contracted, and, if so, for how long? I wonder what the new administration's Indigenous engagement appetite is?
  10. You're a traveller, BA? Kudos to you, then, and all the other travellers (special shout-out to The Army). Best wishes for a good travel fixture.
  11. We were less than 1% from finishing 12th, which would have seen us in the middle-six play-twice group with WBulldogs, Carlton, Collingwood, Fremantle and Essendon. At 14th we score Gold Coast, Adelaide, West Coast, North and Richmond. So, looking to the far end of 2025, we might have dodged final-round bullets in Collingwood (again!), Carlton or Freo away. But let me be the first to pessimistically predict we get Adelaide, away...
  12. Cool! Aware of the name but not the music. However, this 60s kid appreciated the riffing on The Shadows in the house party scene! 🤓🎸
  13. Yep. Just add @biggestred's ingredient: Get players in space.
  14. Interesting thoughts here, all posters. Thanks. A well-examined subject over the recent years! Each time I see our talent enumerated in its quality, breadth and depth - as you have here, DeeZ - it makes me realise how important, then, are a coached effective method and player buy-in to that method. Then I realise the frustration that we can only get a sense of the method and buy-in from the players' play (successful or otherwise!) We never know what they're being coached or their willingness to execute it. Retaining competitive edge/s dictates this, as Brad Green confirmed in his review email.
  15. For comparisons for Roo, another animal comes to mind: The Ox. Can someone do a stats comparison of their first 2 or 3 years (allowing, somehow, for the mercurial nature of those years for Schwarz)?
  16. Serious question: these different characteristics that a midfield needs to provide - inside / outside / run & carry / ball use / etc - If players don't have all or most of them, how is a game plan based on a particular combination of them sustained through rotations? My point: Players need all or most of the characteristics; so, for example, 'elite ball user' (just using this as an example, sons; it could have been any of the 'needs' that come up herein) isn't enough by itself. Discuss?
  17. Who could tell, from this, that just 27 days earlier, had come this, on a much more consequential 'Number 2': https://www.nfsa.gov.au/collection/curated/asset/96113-menzies-speech-declaration-war Some learnings, that never seem to sink in...
  18. Sorry about the long address, but here's a bit of what you're referring to Mr Stone 😊 https://www.google.com/search?gs_ssp=eJzj4tTP1TewTEsptzBg9BIoKUosyyxWyMrPyCsuyc9LBQCGDwnd&q=travis+johnstone&oq=t&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqDAgEEC4YQxiABBiKBTIGCAAQRRg8MgYIARBFGDsyBggCEEUYOzIGCAMQRRg7MgwIBBAuGEMYgAQYigUyBggFEEUYPDIGCAYQRRg8MgwIBxAuGEMYgAQYigUyDAgIEC4YQxiABBiKBTIMCAkQLhhDGIAEGIoFMgwIChAuGEMYgAQYigUyDAgLEC4YQxiABBiKBTIMCAwQLhhDGIAEGIoFMgwIDRAAGEMYgAQYigUyDAgOEC4YQxiABBiKBdIBCDE5NDNqMGo0qAICsAIB&client=ms-android-samsung-ss&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:d87d7f97,vid:VsAWKj1999I,st:0
  19. Also, I think the timing has been openly foreshadowed for some time? I'm sure all those interested in it have prepared to make time to dig into it during their longweekending.
  20. I can't get a handle on whether his views about the Club have been formed from the outside looking in or, somehow, looking from the inside. Clark has 'quoted' Smith extensively, as 'told the Herald Sun'. That feels vague, but I must assume he said what is attributed to him. He thus seems strong on the clarity that, '...from the trade period...no one really wanted to come to us.' Do we assume that was a view held by the Club (SS 'inside looking') - and, if so, I'd be expecting the review/s to be clear on that - or was it formed from the media 'analysis' (SS 'outside looking')?
