  1. That confirms it: 1966. Kerry Ryan, #36, played 1 game for the Dees, in 1966 (and kicked 1 goal - presumably from that mark from H's vision!) Graham Osborne also mentioned, and 1966 was his first year with the Dees.
  2. Can anyone ascertain if this footage is from his post-12th-premiership period? The mid-60s seem to have been a bit of a watershed, from the earlier 'get-and-kick' style, to a more skilful, varied one, as demonstrated by H.
  3. Max'll be able to share a thing or two with him about not losing, or at least regaining, confidence after a repeat injury.
  4. Scroll forward 50 years and that's a laptop in front of Henry, with [insert football media outlet of choice] opened...
  5. ? Still '76'? Perhaps missing last season's (S9's) 11 games? Melbourne had played 76 games up to end S8.
  6. You rose to the occasion again, Mr Stone!
  7. p.s. At 76 games, he's missed 1 of Paxy's and 2 of Kate's games. Trivia question: Who took the reins in those games? Possibly Shae S?
  8. Only peripherally on topic, but this thread is the only current live AFLW-related one. It's about the only boy in @red and blue forever's valued tabling (who's still only 41? Wow!) This from last year's end of season activities but only now appearing on the Club's website. Geez he's an asset. And long may he continue to be so. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1706399/future-direction-stinear-confident-in-young-list
  9. It's a good read (but, then, I'll read anything about the Dees). Thanks, @rumpole. Though '...we give value. No same old garbage you’re going to hear from ten others, taking turns in mimicking each other. No played out opinions. Thoughtful and comprehensive – that’s what we aspire to provide...' is a bit of a stretch; I didn't see much new or left field. Its substance, and the padding, are entertainingly written, and you've got to be impressed by someone who can write two novels in a handful of months!
  10. You take your eye off the (tennis/cricket/league/aussie) ball for a second and the world zooms past you... Congrats, all players, successful or otherwise.
  11. Noooo! Not yet! I just joined! 🥹
  12. Bat free here. But cue another rabbit hole for the T$B$: dodgy car stories. I'll continue with a very mild one and I'm sure they'll get significantly worse. A shout-out to the very particular dodginess of 1970s British cars, providing story opportunities more or less from new. In our case, selves newly twenty-something, me driving then girlfriend's (Brit-born) dad's Morris Tasman down The Hume (pre 'M31'!) in a rain storm, in a hurry (probably to return the car?) Wipers. Just. Stopped. Rain didn't. And the journey must continue, unabated, and considerate of the traffic's need for speed: With head out the window.
  13. I suspected same. Let the annals* of Demonland Quizzery show a 3-way tie for silver to @hardtack, @Axis of Bob and yours truly! * Reviewed for autocorrect interference before posting
  14. 1. 😉 2. Um... Why do they take a picture? How do you have it? (I am not a modern consumer)
  15. A niggling 'So what', eh, Roger? (Don't hate me, Franky 🫤)
  16. With the things about Robbie they've got to talk about, and do - from living first-hand knowledge - it's hard to imagine how other reminiscences can match this. In this regard, particularly, Robbie02 seems correct. '...| Episode 1 |...' has created a challenging precedent for '...Series...'.
  17. Something at Caulfield, at least, surely. Pivoting, ball on the bounce, from neighbouring Murrumbeena, towards the 'G.
  18. Ah! I was looking for that! (thatty?) I see why you can't spell it out!
  19. 😆 ...I think. Now; the reveal?
  20. Just like that fleeting moment in time when we were AFL, AFLW and VFL premiers. Emphasis - sadly - on fleeting...
  21. Time for a reveal, Rog. And how was @Little Goffy's confidence misplaced?
  22. Attendance at, and reporting on, training has been significantly increasing, and increasingly noticed and appreciated by the rest of us Two more things to thank @Demonland's influence for, in fostering and facilitating them. 2025 👊
  23. Can you release it from the maw of instagram, please, hardtack?
  24. Belated, but I thought Father Ch-richo-mas deserved an airing here 😊 https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/1706154/santas-visit-christmas-with-the-dees?videoId=1706154&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1735074000001
