  1. You aren’t the only one, hope they keep this setup even without kicking a goal I think the fwd line functions much better, if we are going to win the whole thing this year we will need him.
  2. Still think we won’t make top 4? Would you rather we lost to 3 top teams like dogs or beat every contender like us.
  3. 12 and 2 after 14 games and 5 - 0 vs top 8. The mix in the maiming games is 4 vs top 8 and 3 of them away, if we play the remaining games equal to our season so far we should go end up 6-2 or 7-1 and clear top of the table. Given teams below us have won those games I see no reason to think we don’t beat port and wc away and dogs at g. Cats in Geelong would be the only game I don’t think we are a 50/50 or better chance in. If our team was called Richmond and had our record so far we would expect them not to drop and game and win the grand final in a canter.
  4. Yea not sure how our leading goal kicker isn’t in our best fwd line. He is 2nd player selected after Tmac atm up fwd, as much as pressure and tackles can help it’s ultimately about kicking goals and over the year he is doing that better than anyone else
  5. I just find it amusing we beat both dogs and lions in consecutive weeks only a month ago and yet after they both win on the weekend, albeit impressively the are now considered the teams to beat. Logic should dictate they are both playing for 2nd. But that is the media for you have the memory of a gold fish
  6. Agree with some of the sentiments that Pickett needs to lifted his game or he risks getting dropped. Didn’t even have a tackle on the weekend which is unacceptable for the role he plays. Not to worried about Fritsch just yet. Noticed on the weekend him and tmac were pushing up the ground extremely high, I think we over compensated for our defence vs pies last week, they really need to hang back a bit more. I’m sure we will find the balance soon just needed a win to settle the nerves. The psychology of getting 12 wins already should be a big weight off for the rest of the year as everything else from now is prepping for finals
  7. Really missed a key target up fwd tonight with McDonald and fritsch not getting near it. For all our fantastic defending we simply couldn’t get value for our fwd 50 entries. Unless brown is injured he has to come back in. If for nothing more than to free up tmac
  8. The game v swans when him and tmac teamed up for 7 of our 10 goals was great then dropped one game later. That is the sort of one two fwd line that wins finals, as they say the talls don’t get any shorter at the end of games but the fast guys get slower
  9. I’d say mcc and AFL members will be proportionate to the the number of seats those areas have in the ground that’s how it worked earlier in the year, mcc is approx 25% of seats, AFL members area is similar. Meaning only about 50% max will be club and general admin. So maybe 10k bombers and 2.5k Melbourne members is my guess if total capacity is capped at 25%
  10. Got no issue with weid if he stays he could well show us all one day, however now after 6 years they shouldn’t be paying for what he might be but what he is now, if he stays under those terms then more power to him, other wise let him walk and take what we can get, there is no shortage of talented kids and senior players out there who would kill for a tilt at a flag who we can attract in his place.
  11. Love to see him have to find form in vfl, last time he got dropped went unused as sub and came straight back in, didn’t learn a thing
  12. Not sure where to mention this but our memberships will get you into the game if you can get yourself to Sydney, the boarder restrictions changed over night to allow travel if you have not been in one of the specific areas of infection
  13. Why do I get the feeling that the first 4 named on the bench are the ones playing and Sparrow will once again be sub. What more does he need to do and what is Melksham doing that keeps him in
  14. Regardless of if the players play for him on Monday they are all auditioning for the new coach from now till they are appointed. Fully expect the pies to come out firing on Monday in a way we haven’t seen this year
  15. I’ll be so disappointed if Sparrow is dropped before Melksham after that game, it sends completely the wrong message to players outside this team that when they get there chance and do everything that is asked and can’t hold a spot while a senior player gets away with sub par performances week after week gets to keep playing to find form. Form that even if found I don’t think is that impressive
  16. To be the best we still need to do it in finals and luck with injuries will have some say in that. But so far as in the regular seasons go we are on track to have our best year to date. I think I heard during the broadcast on Friday our highest number of wins in the regular season is 16, we will surely break that record. Have add in my time following since the mid 80s I always envied other teams who had the super star players that you hated but would love to have, even in our best years I don’t think we truely had one. ( ie the Ablett's, Hirds, Judd’s, Franklins of the world), I’m confident in saying we finally have that and not just one.
  17. Listening to Goodwin on Saturday he didn’t sound like he was unhappy with Melksham, he was specifically asked and said he had been building form the last month till Friday. Not sure y he get to build form in the seniors but obviously Goodwin thinks he is central to our plans
  18. Why would you move Langdon or Brayshaw off the wing where they are both playing well just to try and manufacture a way to keep an underperforming player in the team.
  19. Rayner is also missing, he’s easily in there best 22. It’s a good test, if we beat them tomorrow, then we can beat them come finals no issue, this will be there best chance. Loose and we have some excuses.
  20. Wonder if Neale back will throw off the balance there team has had over the last month or so, we might have an opportunity just like vs dogs to get them early
  21. He just needs to work harder, doesn’t get himself to enough contests, doesn't make repeat leads and loose his opponents. Nearly every dropped mark is in a pack, even for the best that is a low percentage mark. Out on the lead his marking is good as any.
  22. Any idea if the guys are able to train a one group atm or are we stuck training in smaller groups, if so that’s going to be a huge disadvantage vs the interstate sides or the sides that already left vic
  23. Maybe ben brown comes in and tmac moves to the wing for a week.
  24. Wonder why they don’t have dees play pies this week and move the lions bye fwd one week, then we play lions at g on queen’s birthday hopefully, crows can then play pies in sa also as intended
  25. Home game for dogs today, I don’t think a loss means we can’t win the flag. If we get beaten badly today and again when we play at the g later in the year then maybe, but even then it’s the finals that count every other game is the same 4 points. Unless we go off the deep end we are almost certain to finish top 4 probably top 2 regardless of tonight’s result
