Changes: Rd 05 v St. Kilda
Spargo offered nothing and was a late in for Lockhart anyway so that is the first charge I've been a supporter of Oscar for a long time thinking he just needed time, but last night he was diabolical, a witches hat would have been more effective. So for mine any one is an upgrade right now, Petty is the next KPD off the rack give him a few weeks till May is fit as he certainly can't be worse

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Sydney
I hope everyone that said Jones was done, think about this next time

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Can we just celebrate the small victories we are no longer last on the ladder

Tanking scandal documents
The bigger story is how Melbourne was not found guilty of tanking and simply bringing the game into disrepute given the evidence at hand which the AFL had the whole time. Clearly there was and are bigger things at play. If they lied on this you can just imagine what went on with the Essendon drugs saga

PREGAME: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Clark and bellchambers are both hopeless with the ball, let them play 2 like that if they want, it's to there own detriment

Changes vs Geelong Rd 2
It all started in the middle, gawn, gus, oliver and harmes were all beaten by there direct opponents. Until this is rectified everything else is window dressing. Unfortunately there no easy fix for that as that is our A team for the foreseeable future, Viney and Vanders when fit will help. Maybe we could use Trac in the middle more in the mean time or Salem who seems to be up and about. May in should help specifically against Hawkins this week, KK, Stretch, and Wagner should all in consideration to come in for 1 or both of Viney and Spargo as both could use a spell

Jason Taylor Resume
Time will be the proof if we got this one right, I felt we over paid for Melksham and Hibberd and let Watts go cheap at the time of those trades and am happy to say I have been proven wrong. I can only hope I feel the same about this in a year or 2. I would have liked to see us be involved in a few of these speculative trades like hawks have been with Scully or North with Hall

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I don’t think he was going anywhere but dees this year, next year is debatable but unless he wants to come to dees for something other than a pay day he will still be there next year for us.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
At a huge cost, if we don’t win we have basically thrown away a pick 6 or whatever we could have got next year to get May 1 year sooner
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Neale wanted to go to lions and was a free agent next year and yet they got a better deal than us, dees caved, we could have got at least he same deal next year. Plus picked up May as a free agent. Maybe then we would have had ammo to target Kelly. We sold the farm to get May 1 year early. Unless we win the flag next year this was a nonsensical trade
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Not the worst trade but surely we could have done something more creative and got pick 11 will a swap of later picks, would have been nice to see some high end talent come in from this draft
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
The way I look at it is if Hogan is going to be getting a million a year a freo then they can cough up 2 first round picks

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Mahoney is on record just before the trade period started saying the plan was always to get May as a free agent next year, doing a trade for him this year was never the plan. If the deal can’t be done this year then the most likely scenario is we get him next year as a fa. The benefit of that is maybe we keep Hogan long term or if we do trade him then those picks can be used to fill another need.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Playing hogan in defence would make no sense, before the injury this year he was out number 1 fwd. It also ignores the fact the Tmac would go back if anyone was going to, he would obviously be the superior choice given he has played most of career down there. Whoever is report on this in media needs to check there sources and there common sense as someone is having them on. Also ignores the fact I think dees will find a way to get May regardless.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
The issue is you need to give something to get something and we need a key back more than a 2nd string mid

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Maybe the dees need to trade out a hunt, stretch or anb along with next years first to get the deal done

Darwin game dumped
This makes no sense, why are we potentially risking a flag on this, we give up a proper home game in both cases as we always play interstate sides up there and that isn’t even taking into account how we perform the week after both games. This will cost us a top 4 or top 2 one of these years

2019 best 22 and depth chart
Not sure why Frost is in so many of these teams, the guy is a dead set liability, once Lever is back frost is out. And on playing all 3 what teams have 3 talls which would require all 3.
-
Andrew Gaff
So I guess by that logic we wouldn’t have wanted buddy or danger either, even the best players have bad games. We should be so lucky as to get Gaff
-
Jordan De Goey
Sure we could get De Goey, just don’t cry that we have to give up Petracca and Brayshaw to do it
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
If they refuse the picks they risk getting nothing, I’m sure dees could get him through to pick 10
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
According to some quotes from Brian Waldron below, Watts and Salem are up as trade bate to secure Lever. For mine Watts has had his chance but Salem still has so much upside and we need more like him https://www.sen.com.au/news/2017/09/15/plough-shocked-young-dee-is-up-for-trade/

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Except by the time that happens Pedersen and Lewis will be retired or on last legs, with Jones and Garlett not far behind. And we would have traded out any sort of depth. Having said that it would all be worth it for a flag. I like to think (foolishly) we already have all the right players and we just need more time.
-
Andrew Brayshaw
Do the pundits think he will be there round pick 30 (our 2nd pick), last I heard he was a late 1st round prospect
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I think you would find neither the lions or blues would give up pick 1 for Lever if they were in a position to get him. Martin yes, Lever no. Lever at this point is still a largely unproven kid who plays loose on the 3rd tall and takes a good intercept mark. I'm fairly sure he will turn into a fine player but it's hardly a given that he will be A grade let alone the next big thing. Look at Scully for an example he left us on big money was meant to be a marquee player for gws, there was no reason not to expect big things from him, and while he has been solid I would hardly call him a star, what makes Lever such a sure thing in comparison that anyone would give up so much.
