  1. Didn't say drop, said rest clearly the kid isn't even close to 100%
  2. other than the obvious outs of smith, Kent and Stretch. I would also look at resting Hunt to me he looks to have been struggling with something since the West Coast game. 2 of those 4 go out for Watts and Tyson. Pederson also possibly out for balance reasons.
  3. It allows petracca to go into the mid full time for one, secondly watts and Garlett are much better uses of the ball meaning it won't be turned over as much when compaired to say White and Wagner. Additionally it gives the team more structure. I'm not saying u win finals without them but a team like Carlton with 4 wins shouldn't be a problem. If it is we are kidding our self about having any sort of impact come September. Very rearly does a team have there best 22 or even best 18 any given week if dees can't beat a team that sit on 4 wins after 14 games with 3 mids out we have bigger problems than injuries
  4. John Ralph would have no more idea than the man in the street. Goodwin said he was a chance which to me means not this week but next
  5. If Hogan, Garlett and Watts come in it will more than compensate for Viney and the possible loss of Tyson. Watts can go back for Wagner if need be. Garlett is our #1 fwd 50 defensive player and a big reason we have been able to lock the ball inside our 50 this year and was sorely missed on Friday. Hogan in will allow Tmac to go back and play as the loose man in defence and petracca to go mid full time Our midfield will have to work a bit harder but we have Gawn hitting to Oliver, Vince, Petracca, Lewis, ANB and stay with me Melksham (where his hardness and quick kicking out off packs is a positive, unlike when he plays back), it may not be our A team but if we are to seriously be contending in finals and not just making up numbers, beating a team like Carlton regardless of outs is a must and what good teams do.
  6. Viney could still play next week, a plantar fascia release can be done under general and you can walk out after. Robert Harvey did just that back in the day.
  7. At lot of hysteria going on here, bugg threw a punch like Lewis earlier in the year the only difference his Cripps can take a hit Mills can't. Bugg will get his time and we should move on [censored] happens
  8. No one will be dropped from that game, we will have a hard enough time finding players to bring in for those injured
  9. The fwd line will look something like Harmes, Pedersen, Petracca Hannan, T Mac, Kennedy/Kent If we can win with that we can win with anything.
  10. Kent will not get back in until he shows he can tackle and pressure in the vfl. Jkh and Kennedy are well ahead of him atm
  11. Wager for Salem is like for like I'd like to see Kennedy come in a Garlett if he is out. Has been playing some solid games in the 2nds Watts to come for for ??
  12. Brayshaw might be a great player then again he might not we just don't know, I can recall similar discussions about Trengove a few years back when the Richmond trade was mooted now he is effectively worthless trade wise. What we do need is a lock down defender and more silk, if the right trade could be done why not, one thing we have exess of is inside mids
  13. with watts out and Kennedy out I expect tmac to stay forward
  14. For Trengove to play at AFL level again he will need to be 2 steps ahead of everyone else in reading the play, if he isn't he will be 2 steps behind and will just be watching the other player run off with the ball. There is some vision of him from last year that comes to mind of him running to a loose ball on the wing only for the opposition to run past him and collect the ball. Unless he has rectified this one way or the other he will be a liability regardless of the ground he is playing on.
  15. Assuming no injuries perhaps Vince goes out, has points in the bank but on form over this season he should surely be out before bugg, anb or any others
  16. Goody just confirmed on sen that big max is back next week for sure
  17. I think we will see Bugg out for JKH, Goodwin seems the type who rewards vfl form, Bugg although going ok is probably first out at the moment if we are making changes. Obviously Gawn or Spencer will also be in at the expense of Oscar or Frost. Oscar was solid on the last line and didn't have any brain fades to my recollection and just now seems to be coming into his own, but Forst has that X factor we lack but just isn't as accountable to his man. Hard choice.
  18. I'd say tigers and freo have. Both have lost only to fellow top 8 sides. On that form you would expect both to get to 12+ wins unless they have a very poor draw
  19. Serious question, will he be able to legally have testosterone replacement therapy so far as wada/asada is concerned , if not he is going to be at a serious disadvantage.
  20. I know Vince had a good game shutting down Sloane a few weeks back, but I feel he has been getting by on past exploits for the most part this year. Not only has his output dropped off but he is still making the same silly turnovers he always has. If he doesn't lift soon I would expect he will be out before the other usual suspects in ANB, Bugg and Harmes going forward
  21. What makes you confident Frost or any of our other key backs can hold Lynch to only a couple, when we haven't done so all year against any other Key forwards. NRiewoldt 4, Hawkins 5, McCarthy 2.3, N Riewoldt 6.2, Daniher 1.6 (& 2 on the full), Roughead 4, Brown 5.2. Not to say we won't win but we would have to be the worst team for goals against by key fowards.
  22. The issue for dees this year and last is we don't know how to play when we are the hunted, we have been the hunter for so long we have forgotten. When we are wining the clearances and getting our hands on the ball more than the opposition we still always look backwards as the first option when we should be pressing the advantage. Every game when we are forced to take risks we look so much better, even if we don't always pull it off it creates random opportunities, when we play it safe and try to massage the ball round the ground we inevitability turn it over or give the opposition time to setup and counter attack.
  23. The AFL should just have a floating fixture for the last round and match up 8v9, 7v10, 4v5, 3v6. 17v18 (kreuzer cup anyone). That way if 8th and 9th are separated by a game or less they are effectively playing off for a spot in the 8, but if like last year 7th is on 15 wins and 10th is on 10 it wont effect 7th playing in finals. Otherwise the final 8 is effectively the final 10.
  24. Not so much a change but perhaps Tom McDonald can play Hogans role until he gets back
  25. Just curios why Kent gets in before Kennedy, both play a similar game and Kennedy has been playing better back at Casey. I think Kennedy also brings more defensively which is why Kent got dropped to begin with
