  1. Agree that Spencer is ahead of Weideman the issue I have is that Spencer playing means less time for Gawn in the ruck which is where he is most dangerous. As a forward Spencer only seems useful as a deep target, which takes away from Hogans game and crowds the forward line with a player who is useless if it goes to ground. At this stage Id rather just take Hogan and Watts as the only 2 tall forwards and have an extra midfield type to help with zoning and provide extra run.
  2. I asked T Viney why cross was delisted in the off season last year and he's explanation was that his kpi's were down below the level expected of an afl player. Wouldn't elaborate on the specifics
  3. If it's just about the possibility of not been able to trigger a 4th year it seems a bit odd, even if he played a handful more games last year, he was never going to play the majority next year with Hunt improving, Salem fit and Melksham and Hibberd coming in. The odds of him triggering that clause were always low
  4. I'm maybe exaggerating a little but he's is a free agent at the end of next year so lions can take what they are given now or get nothing in 12 months. If they think he's going anyway
  5. Find it odd we are not going after Rockliff over say Hibberd, our 2nd round and Dunn might get it done
  6. To get into 8th this year you will need 13 wins, which means 7 from the remaining 10 for us. With 5 games against top 8 teams and port at home and staints again playing finals seems like more than stretch
  7. As bad as it is that we seem to rely on a first year player Oliver has to come back. With him in the team is much more balanced. Grimes in although deserved won't add anything. I recall he had similar form in vfl last year and when he came in nothing had changed. Even if they haven't shown it with form in vfl Dunn and Frost need to come in and play back for a month so we can see if they have what it takes.
  8. If all he wants is money then good luck to him, as he won't be at dees next year. If we ever hope to build a side that can contend for a flag every one will need to take unders (including hogan), just like the Cats and Hawks
  9. I don't know why people keep persisting that Frost is a backup ruck he has had 3 hit outs in 5 games. Pederson for contrast has had 30 in 7 games. Could just be opertunity but shows were the club sees him in this regard
  10. Is Prestia really only 175cm. If so hard to believe that he competes with the Kennedys, Wines and Oliver's of the world in those packs
  11. All comes down to winning the contested ball, almost every game any team looses this is the difference. Getting 2 extra players round the ball by leaving 2 of their fwds alone is a short cut too this until we are good enough to go 1 on 1 round the packs
  12. Interesting fact the Dees are the only side out side the 8 to have beaten a team in the 8.
  13. Dislocated his finger during the gc match so would be a chance to miss any way.
  14. Start worrying if he doesn't sign by start of next season. We have more players out of contract this year than in contract Nothing to worry about yet
  15. Feels like they have decided to double down on the midfield run and carry and just hope it doesn't get back enough to matter. Will either look inspired or backfire badly
  16. The saints were able to move the ball from our 50 to theirs much too easily, the same thing happened against the dons. Every game we have conceded a few like that but more than made up for it by creating turnovers in the midfield. It's a team defence and team offence now. No use just blaming the final link in the chain, that's just like blaming the forwards in previous years for not kicking enough goals when it only came in 30 time a game
  17. I'm just been realistic, if you lined up our list and picked the best 22 Hunt would be round about that 22nd spot IMO, ergo he is one of the first out if changes are made.
  18. Hunt had 3 clangers from 14 touches , 1 tackle, 89 min on ground (3rd least). Just because he wasn't bad doesn't mean he should stay in the team we can do better
  19. Brayshaw and Hunt Out Petracca and ANB In Think Oliver needs to go back to the 2's and work on his tank. Brayshaw looks cooked and game time isn't helping and Hunt just turns it over a few to many times for my liking. We need to see what others can bring to the table and we won't know unless we try
  20. Hunt and Oliver out Vince and Garlett in Would love to see Patracca in but that would mean Kent or Harmes out
  21. Agreed, if we can play like we did for the last 3 qtrs every week we will win many more than we loose, the team just needs to bring that effort every week or we aren't going anywhere
  22. R3 Squad N.Melb v Melb, Sun 10 Apr, 1.10pm, Blundstone Arena. IN: Dunn,Grimes,Frost,Wagner,Stretch. Out: Garland,Brayshaw (omit).
  23. Just looked really tired today, wouldn't get more than a half from him next week if he plays
  24. Could pick almost anyone in the team but for mine Out: Hogan (ankle/ rest), Brayshaw (needs a run or 2 in vfl first), Oliver (rest) in: no idea
