My Sunday unexpectedly just freed up,

Watching yesterday it once again became apparent we are susceptible when we can’t force teams down the line for May and Lever to intercept. Crows did it via short kicks and marks and finding a target till they were in range. Last week it was the lions moving the ball through the corridor which they inexplicably abandoned in the last qtr once they felt the game was safe. Essendon from memory also refused to go down the line earlier in the season when we played. It also explains why we struggle in wet conditions where intercept marking is more difficult. How can this be mitigated or is this a potential fatal weakness and just the reality of how we choose to play and we knowingly accept this trade off. Also what are your feelings on smith, he was the spark we needed in the final term, do you think he should be in the starting 22 over Brown.

Onto next week won’t be watching that game again. Awful, absolutely lucky crows couldn’t kick straight, they mainly refused to go down the line and took the short kick which we seemed unwilling or unable to stop, while we seemed content to just bomb it fwd

From what I’ve read you can only finish within your bracket, so even if a team in the 1-6 bracket after round 17 lost every game the lowest they can finish is 6th. I personally don’t mind this setup as it makes the draw more equitable. It also makes every game in the 1-6 and 7-12 brackets effectively 8 points games for the remainder of the year. The only downsides I can see is games between teams in 13-18th bracket are pointless making their season is over sooner. And it leaves less of a mystery where each team stands come finals in the other brackets as they will have all played each other just prior.

Just go with the best available if we end up with a pick 4/5, if we get a pick closer to 10 then maybe go for a key position player, we immediately need a tall fwd and it won’t be long before we need a replacement for May.

Not complaining, but if we lost by a point I feel like it would be taken entirely differently despite essentially been the same game

The definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing and expecting different results. For the team and his sake there needs to be a circuit breaker prior to finals unless we are happy for this to continue for the rest of the season

If the defensive pressure isn’t creating goals then it’s for nought. Even tonight we had total of 12 goals with good kicking, that won’t stack up vs most teams come finals. We must get more goals from Kozzie directly.

If we loose this with saints 3 down we might as well book September holiday now

I’ve got no confidence about dees tonight, I think saints fwd line will trouble us with max king height and smalls we never seem to match up well against, while their ultra defensive style will make scoring at our end even harder than it has been. I wouldn’t be surprised if they win by 30

We will most likely 9-9 in 3 week and outside the 8, repeat of 2017 and 2020 coming up
