Not sure if anyone saw the list in the HS this week of top 100 paid players we had by far the most and at the pointy end to. Got me thinking with Picket out of contract and Brayshaw just recently committing on big coin to, was losing Jackson or someone else on big money inevitable, unless players are willing to take big cuts to stay together. When compared to cats our list looks very top heavy contract wise. If the figures are to be believed we simply can’t afford Jackson 700-800 and Pickett 600-700, along with all the role players who will be demanding more than minimum like spargo, sparrow, petty, Jordan, bedford and a host of resent picks in the vfl. We might still loose a few but perhaps keeping Jackson means we loose them all.

Felt like Brayshaw stiff not to at least make the bench, not sure rozee had that good of a year. One again no wings, with the way the transition game is played these days they are one of the most important roles in any serious team, no coincidence that all the best sides have at least one good winger.

One would hope if freo was off the table he might reconsider in the short term, really I don’t understand his rush. Dees in the frame for multiple flags, the money and deal with still be there in 2 years. Wc will split pick 2 if he nominated them, no way they will they trade out of the first round assuming the afl would even allow it, best bet would be they split this years pick 2 into 5-6 or something to that effect, we would get one of them and next years first probably round pick 7-10 when it’s all done.

Exactly the Kelly deal with the best parallel in recent years. If only Jackson would give us 1-2 more years we could work on a better deal. The reason cats were able to get that deal was wc had effectively 2 years to come up with the picks.

With the rumour of rankine turning down 800k a year from GC what does that mean for our negotiations with Pickett who I’d argue is better, we certainly can’t afford another player at that price.

So with the 12 day concussion protocol is Papley 100% out if we play Thursday or could they down grade it on Monday

Last year it is was 2v3 Friday and 1v4 on Saturday. With the other 2 games on Saturday and Sunday day

I’d take Grundy he is still one of the premier rucks in the league if fit and I don’t believe any of his injuries are debilitating. Just a question of at what price. If pies are willing to cover some of the contract and not require much in the way of picks then I’m all for it. If we could get him by paying 650k and a 2nd round pick I think that is a win.

Don’t see us finishing top 4 now, we probably beat blues and loose to lions meaning we finish 5th making a flag extremely unlikely, not that we would deserve it. We haven’t beaten probably the 3 main contenders in Cats, Swans or Pies this year, hard to see us going through at a minimum 2 of them of on a way to a flag when we haven’t all year.

The fwd line didn’t get 100 points scored against them for the 2nd time in 3 weeks, this is a defensive problem. If we are needing to score 100+ to win games we have already lost.

Hibberd and ANB both should be put in a hole to never be seen again. Bring in Bedford and Harmes

Seeing pies in person shows me why they have won 10 in a row, such a hard running team, they might be getting smashed round the ball but you can’t deny they know when to get on the bike. If they outlast us we might get overrun
