  1. Absolutely he will. He's been gifted games for 2 seasons now with very very minimal output. We need to bite the bullet and give our former champions the title of '300' seeing as we only have Neitz who has achieved that milestone, and we're the oldest football club in the world. I know it's not the right way to go about it, but at the end of the day, no one can say Jonesy didn't deserve it... winning 3 club best and fairest and leading us through our darkest times as a club.
  2. FB: Lockhart, May, Lever HB: Hibberd, T.Mac, Salem C : Langdon, Petracca, Harmes HF: Melksham, Weideman, Hunt FF: Pickett, B.Brown, Fritsch R: Gawn, Oliver, Viney Int: Spargo, Jackson, Brayshaw, Rivers Emergencies: Tomlinson, AVB, Petty, Sparrow Jones will be gifted games to get to 300 and then transition into a coaching role by mid season provided he doesn't get injured. Bowey and Laurie will get between 5 - 10 games each next season and learn what is required at AFL level. Hunt and Harmes to rotate between half forward and wing. T.Mac will be eager to show his worth and I believe he will be suited to CHB since O.Mac has been delisted I think he is better than Tomlinson in that role.
  3. I love the fact that Williams has been trying to land a role at Melbourne for what appears to be 3 years now and has finally got it. He clearly see's something in us and wants to be part of our success! The same can be said for Green and Yze, they all want to be at the club and will give their all to see us finally win our 13th cup. No doubt about it, these next 5 years we will be right in contention and hopefully we can do a Richmond win 3 very long overdue Premierships.
  4. We lost our elite strength and conditioning coach at the end of 2018, Rob Jackson I think it was... who went on to train the AFL umpires. By all reports he was highly respected within the industry and Alex Sakadijan was his apprentice but obviously lacked experience. It's good to see the MFC board has noticed this deficiency and addressed our needs accordingly.
  5. Probably Mahoney's best performance over trade period to date. We are looking very well placed with 2 late first rounders, a decent second rounder and pick 50 which I believe we will try to consolidate into a better pick in coming days. Our last pick will be used to upgrade Lockhart to the senior list. Any talk of him moving on at the end of this year or next is just rubbish. Mahoney has shown his worth to the board with this masterstroke.
  6. So much for Bucks being a changed man. The way he has communicated not only to Treloar but Stephenson as well leaves much to be desired. Being told that the senior playing group don't value you (Treloar) and don't want you around is appalling. Add to that Stephenson was given the boot based on his former indiscretions (gambling) and bad form this year it just beggars belief that anyone would want to play for that club with that arrogant and narcissistic coach. I'm certain all 3 of the players traded will do great at their new clubs.
  7. Well if we lose Oliver next year we'll be knocking on their door to land Dunkley.
  8. It looks like we aren't landing a back up ruckman with 30 minutes to go in the trade period. We'll most likely pick up a delisted free agent. Could Sam (sauce) Jacobs be a chance with us next year? He was interviewed last week and mentioned he still has a year or two left in the tank.
  9. I believe so. But it could be worth getting in his ear. We will likely go deep into finals next year. It would be a nice finish for him as opposed to going to a rebuilding Essendon who's players are leaving in droves. Players at the end of their careers want success and a chance at lifting the cup.
  10. Could Stef Martin make his way back to the Demons? Seemingly on the outer at Brisbane and Mahoney has identified the need for a Ruck/Foward as Preuss is off to GWS. I think he'll be an option for us for a year or 2 playing 5 - 10 games a year. He will come cheap and suits our need as a backup option with good leadership and mentoring for our list.
  11. We need to look after our own players first with Oliver, Gawn, Salem, Jackson and Weideman coming out of contract next year. I imagine they'll all be wanting pay rises as they are all entering their prime. Gawn and Oliver could command upwards of $850k a season so we would need to do some very shrewd negotiating with Collingwood.
  12. Is your source comfortable that you're supplying demonlanders with intel? It seems your source is close to football management decisions. Secondly, do we have strong interest in Mihocek? if Brown falls through.
  13. I hope we can get 100 games out of Hibbo. Very courageous and gives his all every game. I wish we had a few more like him.
  14. Pass... I would rather put more time into Bedford and Spargo.
  15. Not if we give them T.Mac, who the pies are reportedly interested in. Then we could hopefully clear up cap space for Ben Brown.
  16. I had a chat with him at training during pre season. He's a nice guy, but hasn't been able to get his body right. I feel he needs to instil a bit of self belief within him and he'll improve dramatically. If he has a ripper pre season, I reckon he will be one of our most improved younger players. Good luck Oskar!
  17. Talent just doesn't leave you, I think he just needs a good run at it the same with Weid did and he'll show something. Bulldogs will take Jamarra Ugle-Hagan in the draft so you think we could swap Schache for Omac?
  18. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already but i'm interested to hear what people think if we swapped Preuss for Josh Schache? Bulldogs prefer Bruce and Naughton as their talls but need an experienced ruck to help out English and we need another key forward. Schache was a former #2 draft pick in 2015 and although he hasn't set the world on fire, he's only 23 years old and a good height at 199cms. Having Weideman, Schache and Jackson as our tall forwards could be a really damaging forward line for the next decade. I know we could command a second round pick for Preuss, so we could also do a pick swap as well if people are sitting on the fence.
  19. 1. Gave Kolodjasnij a 3 year contract to a medically unfit player in the hope he would get himself right. So far we've got 2 games out of him. Massive failure. 2. Signed Tom McDonald on big money $700k+ and a long contract after 1 good season as a forward. 3. Signed Harmes on a 5 year deal. Granted he is a good player but he's no superstar. 4. Probably had something to do with offering Goodwin a ridiculously long contract on big coin after 1 season playing finals.
  20. Does this mean we can get Majak in for a couple of years? Handy key position defender and can rotate forward or in the ruck if need be.
  21. Bring him home. The line coaches need a good shake up after what they dished out the past couple of years. Especially with B1 and B2 at the helm.
  22. Apart from not making finals, i'm disappointed by how many of our good players have dropped off. Considering we had one of the best fitness coaches in the AFL. Players like Brayshaw, Harmes, Tmac, Jetta and Melksham are meant to be leading the way and helping us into finals as the older wiser heads and they've all been atrocious. How does that happen? What I want to see next year is a more skilled team i.e better kicking... in particular Viney, Langdon and AVB. Enough with the constant hollywood handballs... kick the damn ball! and we still haven't learnt to keep a wider spacing around the contested ball stoppages. We are continually getting 3 or 4 players drawn onto the ball only to have the opposition win it seconds later as we give off a handball to a team mate under pressure a metre away causing a turnover. Goodwin drives the team. He talks of being ruthless! and yet what happened to us in the last quarter against Essendon? we completely dropped off. "No worries lads, we're 30 odd points up, we got this"....instead of putting them to the sword we come away with a narrow victory. Where is this killer instinct he speaks of? He needs to stop being their mate/father figure as many players refer too and actually dish out some tough love. I've put up with this nonsense for 30 years, I expect more and I demand more than just watching this team do the bare minimum to get a win. It's unacceptable.
