  1. I would like to see Harmes do a tagging job on Parker. By all reports, Parker has been their most damaging midfielder this year. Stop him and we'll go along way in getting first touch from clearances.
  2. Some players don't like having contracts hanging over their heads. They don't like the pressure it adds to their performance. Then journo's start writing articles and speculate why said person hasn't signed on etc. Better to sign early so you can just focus on your training and football and forgetting all that Fugazi.
  3. It was a Top Gun reference nimwit!
  4. No DH policy at Melbourne for a while now. He just cost his club $20k for getting De goey to grab his phone for him. So a NO for me.
  5. I would say he's been given a significant pay rise seeing as he has been nearly best on ground in every game this season. It doesn't surprise me if he has now signed on with GWS. Credit to him.
  6. Tone it down LN. Your ego is writing checks your body can't cash...
  7. You know what I'm disgusted in some of the posters on this site namely @dazzledavey36and @Lord Nevwho like to pot other posters when they're trying to provide information to this group and they have nothing better to do than try and bring us down. And yet they provide next to nothing of their own. When was your last training report either of you? which one of you has driven 5 hours just to update their fellow Demonlanders. You blokes need to take a long hard look at yourselves. Disgusting behaviour.
  8. Not at all Deefiant, the fact that I heard this information between 5 senior coaches and one of them being adamant that he wanted out is no skin off my teeth. I was given information at that time and I reported it to my demonlanders... if people want to throw judgement on me for that than I believe it is more a poor reflection on them than it is me.
  9. Dazzle you talk more nonsense than anyone on this site so I wouldn't be throwing stones if I were you.
  10. Richmond really are poor losers. They played dirty all game targeting players all night because Melbourne were owning them in every facet of the game. I'm so glad we gave it right back to them. Even Martin couldn't handle the heat that Hibberd gave him and called it quits. Cotchin I didn't even notice was playing... he is one the most overrated footballer's in the game.
  11. Welcome to Hell! We are playing like ferocious Demons!
  12. Merely stating the coincidence that both Jordon and Jordan's player number was #23 but as you said this is a pedantry page...
  13. Nietschke, Fritsch and Bradtke I've noticed for some are hard to get right. Ironically Jordon is wearing number '23' which was made famous by Michael Jordan.
  14. You do realise both those places are not strong football communities and those clubs have been established only 10 years ago. Not a very solid argument you're making here. Try and do better mate. I would be more than happy to provide the source to you but seeing as I can't find the article which was posted only a few weeks ago, perhaps someone else can provide it for you. I know how you love sources... I'm sure someone else can back me up here having read that article so I can assure that i'm not making this up. Really? I had no idea. So every player is playing on weekends are they? even the injured ones? last time I checked football didn't run for 52 weeks of the year. Again your logic is irrelevant. Again i'm not seeing you pose any solutions other than to say what hasn't worked. So if you do come up with one that trumps mine and is better than what the MFC is working on i'd love to hear it. Until that time though I think we'll just agree to disagree. Cheers.
  15. I don't see you coming up with any solutions other than trying to dismiss my logical reasoning for a home base in our supporters heartland. It's been said that the MFC want a social club incorporated in their new home base so regardless if it's 'revenue raising' or not they are still going to have one. Footy clinics can be done on weekends like it used to be done 20 years ago for the redlegs and gee I don't know... maybe parents can take their kids along for the experience, so paying for buses is irrelevant. It's all about community, if you want to build your club supporter base. Not many families live in the city anymore... it's mostly 20 - 30 year olds living in shared apartments and international students, so it's not feasible to build a strong supporter base from there. I maintain that the MCG is our home ground, it is the birthplace of our football club and if we can't get back into the MCG, then having a new club facility at Glen Iris would create more supporters than what is currently in the pipeline of a refurbed Gosch's paddock.
  16. An on site cafe and social club would help for starters with increased revenue. They can put on footy clinics for our "young red legs" to encourage new supporters like they used to when i was a little nipper going to junction oval. Then you have community events/functions at our social club and all of a sudden you have an abundance of new supporters with families coming together and we literally become the new "family club" as what Hawthorn refer to themselves as. I realise we are not the "Glen Iris Demons" but I don't necessarily think we need to have a home base in the city as the MCG always was and always will be our home ground.
  17. The reason why hardly anyone goes to training is because of the location. Casey is an hour's drive down the Freeway for most supporters, and the Gosch's can be difficult for some also when taking into account traffic, parking and no toilets. Having a home base in the supporter's heartland would immediately remedy that, and I would argue we would be getting close to 80 - 100 supports coming along to each training session.
  18. Surely cheaper than inner city Melbourne land prices though where we are currently looking at.
  19. I read in an article a few weeks ago that Melbourne's biggest supporter base is located in Glen Iris. Could it be a viable option to set up a home base there in our supporter heartland? Plenty of parks and open spaces to be utilised if a Plan C or D is required.
  20. It's on Casey Demons Instagram. Laurie not playing which is surprising. He must be injured.
  21. Right back at you @Lord Nev?
  22. Guess I nailed selections for this week. @binman feel free to chirp up champ.
  23. I'd still have Melksham and M.Brown in the forward line for this round. We can experiment with a few forward options this round to the lowly Hawks. We'll likely be playing a taller forward line in future when B.Brown and Weideman are back to match fitness. In which case Melksham most likely loses his spot.
  24. I don't mind how you feel... everybody views things differently, but I was just stating how people have NFI on match up's in this thread wanting to go small. Why change a winning formula that has us 2nd on the ladder and undefeated.
