  1. Ashcroft will go pick 1, he's the best player in the draft by a mile. We could possibly go for Hollands around that pick. Or if we miss out on Cadman who will likely go top 5 in the draft we could get the next best key forward Jeffersen who is in the 10 - 15 range of the draft.
  2. So with Jackson requesting a trade it's looking highly likely we will land Grundy. From there we will have to delist Baker and Rosman for 2 live selections in the draft. Taking into account we also have to upgrade Chandler to the seniors list so we'll most likely have to trade (Bedford or Hunt) or delist one of Melksham or Hibberd to have another pick in the draft. I think Melksham only survives if one of Bedford or Hunt go. But I doubt it would be the latter as I feel Hunt is priming himself to take over Hibberd's role after he retires in 2023, if he decides to play on next year which i think most of us feel. With Daw retiring and most likely M.Brown cut and Chandler elevated we could have 3 rookie spots open. This could open the door for us re-rookie Rosman and even cut Melksham off the primary list and re-rookie him if he wants to have one last tilt at a flag next year. So our changes could be IN: Grundy, 2 live draft picks (Freo first rounder and Brisbane first rounder... i'll get to that) and Chandler upgrade for late pick. OUT: Jackson, pick 34 (for Grundy), Baker, Rosman and Melksham delisted from the senior list with the latter two being re-rookied. We also have a plethora of mid-late picks this year which I hope we can offer to Brisbane to nab their first round selection as they need points to land F/S Ashcroft. We'll also have a second first rounder from Freo next year including our own. So we'll be primed to have a red hot crack next year in what is said to be a bumper draft. Hunt, Hibberd and Bedford will hopefully all be re-signed.
  3. Probably better to lose now respectfully than get totally pantsed next week against Geelong. It was so evident most of our players were carrying injuries by our performances in the second half of the season, we were just totally cooked. Now its time to let the players have a good break over the off season and refresh for 2023. Melbourne are still the best side in the comp I believe but injuries, boring team selection and a terrible forward game plan have prematurely derailed our season. Looking forward to see JVR, Howes and Grundy next year ready to smash it in pre season. The Dees will be up and about in 2023!
  4. Waiting to see if West Coast is going to make a move. They have pick 2 which is ideal. If Jacko wants to go home to Perth then we should be looking out for our own interests and send him there. Offering 2 mid first round draft picks and possibly a player doesn't get it done with Freo unless it is a high quality player like Serong or Young IMO.
  5. The only knock I have on CFC is that he seems to struggle getting the players names right. Several times i've heard him call Fritsch "Bradley Fitz" and JVR "Van Rooyna" It just makes me cringe at times as he's on the radio often. Love his passion for MFC and all that but just try and get the names right so you don't sound like an imbecile.
  6. IN: Weideman, Harmes OUT: Spargo, Sparrow MEDI-SUB : Sparrow
  7. Big game today... with six games left in the home and away season, we will need at least two more wins to secure a spot in finals and four wins to remain in the top four by seasons end. It's a must win game today! I'm not so confident we can beat the Doggies next week when they had an extra two days break on us and haven't travelled. From there, we have another short turnaround and head west to take on Freo at Optus, which will be another tough match with Freo likely being favourites... Meanwhile clubs like Geelong get the easiest arm chair ride into finals and finish on top of the ladder thanks to the AFL gifting them games to North Melbourne and West Coast twice!!! unbelievable! I'm hoping for Harmes and Sparrow can step up to the plate today and have a big game in Olivers absence, as Petracca will most likely be tagged all day. Viney will do what he always does and hunt the ball and opposition, racking up 30+ disposals and 10+ tackles. Let's hope Melksham can show a bit of class from his golden days and slot 2-3 goals and deliver some nice kicks inside 50 to his fellow forwards. Let's go Demons!
  8. Spot on. I was just saying this the other day to another supporter. Goldstein would be a handy back up for a couple of years while we wait for Kalani White to be drafted. Goldstein's talents are wasted at North if he stays.
  9. Jon Ralph just announced on Fox Footy that Tmac will miss a minimum of 12 weeks and could be out potentially for 12 months with a Lisfranc tear in his foot. We'll have no choice now but to persist with Weid as the second tall, which isn't such a bad thing... Other than that I would love to try Petty forward again. We have Tomlinson as a decent 3rd tall defender and was a standout last year before he did his ACL. Time to throw the magnets around after two losses in a row.
  10. It was a loss we could all see coming... Melbourne has been complacent albeit a few games, they've just been going through the motions week in week out and losing May today was the tipping point. We can look forward to getting Salem, Langdon and Hibberd back shortly, so that should spark Melbourne into the right mindset.
  11. No love for Langdon??? I thought he was second best on ground tonight after Oliver. Brayshaw couldn't speak more highly enough of Ed on radio after the game and said that Langdon is one of the most crucial players in the team which we all know, but still nice to hear. Credit to our backline... May, Smith and a few others got heavy hits early and still played out the game. There will definitely be some sore guys for the next few days. May played the entire game on one leg with a bad corkie. What a trooper!
  12. Shout-out to Hunty today playing his 100th game. He's been one of my favourites outside the plethora of stars we have in our side. He always takes the game on and plays with courage and dare. Let's hope we can get the win for you today mate. Congrats!
  13. It was unprofessional on Bevo's part and he apologised for that. But in saying that he had many people including myself supporting him in that the media can say whatever they want but when it is put back on them they have thin skin and can't take it. You get what you give in this world, and as an old saying I love to use when I was a chef at France Soir "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen".
  14. Depends who you ask... the general public are mostly in favour of Bevo. But demonlanders seem to take the stance of Morris.
  15. Apologies for quoting myself, but this is a bit of vindication for me as I have people close to me connected in media circles who know what Tom is like. He got found out, so my work here is done. This is just the iceberg of some of the statements he's made regarding fellow staff members. I suggest those who gave me distasteful negative emoji's reflect on their own behaviour not knowing the full story.
  16. Turner would be my guess. He played a few minutes with the 1sts in the practice matches. Deakyn Smith could come in if we wanted to go shorter and if we get really desperate we have Majak and Mitch Brown who have played in Defence in the past for their previous clubs and were pretty good at it.
  17. Hmm... possibly, pressure is one thing, but you have to get the ball.
  18. Just my opinion, no one is right or wrong here. I love Pickett, but Bedford showed more on the night. Pickett will probably keep his spot but it would be nice if Bedford was given the chance ahead of him for once. A bit of competition is healthy.
  19. OUT: Salem, Jordon IN: Lever, Dunstan Bedford to start and make Pickett sub. 5 disposals is just not good enough to hold your spot.
  20. Trac looked even better than last year the way he is moving. He mentioned on AFL 360 last week that he had lost a few kilo's and it show's in the way he can explode off the stoppages and in congested situations without losing any of his power. He has definitely gone up another level already and should be regarded as the best player in the comp. Langdon was outstanding in the first quarter. Could he be an All Australian winger this year? Brown back to his best and will be right up there for the Coleman this year. 3 votes to Trac, 2 votes to Langdon and 1 vote for Brown. I'm so pleased for Joel Smith, he showed a bit last year in the finals and has backed it up again last night. He'll solidify his place in the back 7 this year. Most likely taking Hibberd's spot.
  21. I suggest you do your own research. I'm not going to waste my time and energy detailing to you or anyone else why Morris is absolute slime ball of human and a complete joke as a journalist.
  22. That's one of a number of issues with several dating back last year. Bev is fed up with him and rightly so.
  23. Good on Bevo, he's calling it how he sees it. Tom Morris is absolutely a gutter journalist and puts his nose where it doesn't belong more often than not. He has absolutely no respect for any club as long as he's the first reporter to break the news and quite regularly makes up his own stories to suite his narrative. There's a right way to go about being a journalist in the AFL and he needs to respect that. I'm sure we'd all be quite upset if there was a journo delving into matters with some of our footy players that were none of his business in the first place, which result in mental health issues for staff and players.
