  1. Deciding who is better between Rivers and Viney or Oliver is just splitting hairs anyway. The key takeaway is Clarry deserved his spot in the side, so if the players are genuinely aggrieved at this maybe they should look at what they can do to improve.
  2. If he genuinely wanted to leave I probably would…
  3. He’s copying Morris but adding his own ‘spin’ to cash in on the current trending news stories. That’s the way he operates and I view him as the very bottom of the journo barrel.
  4. lol let’s look at Sam Mclure’s history this past 12 months: - The eagles are not selecting Harley Reid he’s told them he doesn’t want to go. Eagles selected Reid. - Said ‘if Carlton aren’t the flag favourites then you haven’t been watching properly’. The next week when asked who he thinks will play in the GF he said Port and Collingwood. He’s more untrustworthy than any other journo out there.
  5. I’m sure he does. Let’s just leave it I really cbf talking about it anymore
  6. From my understanding it isn’t his manager, it’s someone else
  7. Yes he did. He said specifically ‘if Petracca was out of contract he would walk tomorrow’. That is what we call a hypothetical.
  8. I don’t think it was specifically him or his management. Think it may have likely been people around him
  9. Again I’m not saying he’s lying, I’m saying putting out hypotheticals isn’t really journalism. Petracca doesn’t have to say anything, the majority of players don’t say anything unless they are interviewed and even then it’s just media speak. The club has put out a statement and no doubt would’ve talked with petracca before they put this out.
  10. You have no idea if he would request a trade, just like I don’t… so it’s a bit hypocritical to say that. I’ve heard one of the key reasons for ‘his’ concern from people in the know so I understand what the issue is. Btw I’m not defending the club as I’m sure there are elements they can improve. Just pointing out that Morris could have reported that Petracca was unhappy, but instead goes into discussions about hypotheticals as do most media people these days. Reporting used to be based on fact, now it’s fact mixed in with opinion and innuendo.
  11. I’m sure petracca is unhappy with certain things, I’m not disputing that. But to come with the line, ‘Petracca would ask for a trade tomorrow if he was out of contract’ is irresponsible journalism because it is not dealing in facts.
  12. Yep I’ve stopped watching/listening to both as well. Not only because of the Melbourne pile on, but I just think the quality of reporting is terrible and everything is so sensationalised. It’s a game of football, not life and death! But the media seem to report on it like it is.
  13. He had Cameron Schwab last week! I also couldn't watch that due to concerns my blood pressure would rise...
  14. I don't understand why everyone is even remotely concerned about this? He is contracted like Trac, so it would take North's pick 2 at least to get us to trade him. North can throw whatever they want at him, we can just say no. I have heard media people say that trade talk is the number one most listened to/clicked on media in the AFL world. This is why they put so much time into it and also why there is a show on the AFL website 'Gettable' that runs all year round and is just constant talking about nothing. It all started with AFL trade radio and it is now that on steroids.
  15. I couldn't bring myself to watch it
  16. Sounds great SONM! Hopefully Taylor sees what you do.
  17. Out of contract this year I believe. We would be stupid to not try get him and he would be stupid to not leave given Freo have Jackson and Darcy on long term deals.
  18. I feel like the whole issue with this is we’ve spent 10+ years trying to get a home base near the MCG, which was always going to be difficult. I don’t know all the particulars, but I think that was going on well before this board and they seem to be the only ones that have made actually progress, albeit slow progress.
  19. I saw something yesterday saying he was set to re-sign with the Eagles...
  20. Apparently he doesn't want anything to do with footy atm.....
  21. That is the funny part. God I hope port lose to the crows this week and drop out of the 4. Would be wonderful
  22. I think it makes sense for the Eagles. They need as much young talent as they can get.
  23. You do realise Taylor would be involved in talent acquisition for trades as well
  24. Bit early for worrying about the 2025 leadership group
  25. Apparently Harry Edward’s is off the market now.
