I’m comfortable with Armstrong at pick 9 (whatever that becomes), but I find it hard to see the Saints passing up on him if they keep both their picks. Their key forward stocks are pretty thin with King and Caminiti their main key forwards.

I’m hoping it was more a learning type of thing. Understand what the best young forwards are doing and then play 2025 as a key forward/ruck.

He is definitely good enough to be drafted based on underage form for a key tall. Whether he ends up a first round pick will depend on his form next year. Often key talls don't really come into top contention until the year of their draft.

In regards to breaks before games, it is much better than last year! Of the 14 games that are set in stone we have the following: 8 or more days - 3 7 days - 5 6 days - 4 5 days - 1 Our 5 day break is against the Tigers who also have a 5 day break.

Given Tomlinson is gone it would make sense for Petty to go back to the backline, as we are pretty light on for key talls there now. Key forward depth- JVR, Disco, Jefferson, Fullarton, Verrall and Kentfield key back depth- May, Lever, Petty, McDonald and Adams If we take Riak Andrew as a rookie then he would essentially be key back depth, but don’t think he would realistically be an option for 2025. Marty Hore is another, but he is more of a medium/tall rather than key position size.

How does Verrall look in the drills? I hold out hopes he can become a solid ruck/forward, given I don't think he has the size to be a number 1 ruck.

It would be nice if the AFL/club provided greater clarity on these matters. Even if we can't move AMW we could still take one of Mentha or Andrew as a Cat A rookie. I also believe we can have 3 Cat B rookies, which I assume means we would have to have 5 Cat A rookies.....
