  1. I expect we would be wanting something back, such as the Cats future 2nd
  2. The question I'm wondering is can we pick up a Lycett or Hayes as a rookie delisted FA? That may be a good option as the genuine back up to Gawn. Every club has the same issue though if they lose their number one ruck, as there aren't that many decent ones around.
  3. Jon Ralph saying oh he probably has 12 more months. Well Jon he has a 2 year contract mate so can't see why next year will be any different.... Seriously there are so many gutter journos these days
  4. I think we can delist Kye Turner, move Melksham to the rookie list and have 1 less rookie and 1 extra primary list player next season. We probably can do this financially as you would think the three draftees would be on fairly low salary.
  5. Melbourne supporters - we have too many inside mids who can't kick. Melbourne - trades for quicker outside players with skill. Supporters - we have no midfield depth
  6. It's a SOS special.... how that bloke is still working in AFL recruitment is beyond me. Imagine having 60-70% misses at the Giants and Blues and continually given jobs....
  7. Apparently they will be paying some of his salary and it's likely a late pick or even a swap of picks i.e. we give our future 3rd and they give Billings and a future 4th.
  8. Steven May had not fulfilled his talent.... fast forward and he has two AA jackets with Melbourne. Try again
  9. Steven May? Michael Hibberd? Ed Langdon? Jake Lever?
  10. Imagine being an Aussie moving to the NBA or the Premier League in the UK. You would hear of AFL players getting homesick and laugh.
  11. Brayshaw over Woewodin & Sparrow over Chandler for mine. But agree that with McAdam in Petracca should move back to starting mid.
  12. You can do it in the NBA and I wouldn't mind it in AFL with some potential safeguards in place. This would be the perfect example of how it could work, if the trade was agreed prior on the proviso that Curtin got through to pick 6. Reid and Curtin would be aware and it would be completely above board.
  13. Tim Lamb must've used Jedi mind tricks on the Dogs list manager...
  14. IF I was to re-rank them (not including the rest of the draft), I'd go: 1. Bontempelli 2. Kelly 3. Salem 4. Luke McDonald 5. Jack Billings 6. James Aish 7. Tom Boyd 8. Kade Kolodjashnij 9. Matthew Scharenberg 10. Nathan Freeman
  15. I think that's way better. At worst that is probably pick 2 and pick 4.
  16. Gil on the phone *I won't have my last trade period turn into a non-event. Give me trades, trades and more trades. I'm offering a $500k bonus to the first side to trade a 1top 10 bnf player.
  17. They were very strange interviews tbh and maybe he was caught off guard a little
  18. If we do want Billings today then surely we delist Kye Turner and move Melksham to the rookie list? That would then give us 3 list spots for the draft, is that correct?
  19. This is not homesickness.... this is a club throwing money around and then naturally the player seeing dollar signs. Adelaide probably won't have the same money next season, so hold him and see what happens. We can even hold him for 2025 and by that stage Port may also be interested if he genuienly wants to leave.
  20. Billings with a 3rd/4th rounder would be a better option than a kid at pick 50 I would think
  21. Strong desire..... he never even requested a trade?
  22. Well Kane, seeing as you have JVR as one player ready to explode next year I'm thinking yes.
  23. Interestingly, whoever we take with our first pick may change how we setup for 2024. I know when we draft it is more for the longer term, but given the quality of players available it may well change our setup. Harley Reid - he would likely play 70% forward first year and we can move Trac back into the midfield more. Ryley Sanders - he is probably ready to go through the midfield so perhaps we leave Trac forward more and even use Brayshaw off half back again at times. Dan Curtin - he could probably slot into a half back role quite easily and mean Rivers can potentially be released further up the ground.
