  1. I'm all for moving Stafford on for a genuine forward coach. Have heard him and Goody are close mates though so probably unlikely.
  2. I think it will be Petty CHF and JVR FF. I am hopeful that Fullarton can do enough to hold down a ruck/forward spot as well as I'm not keen on playing a rolls royce like JVR in the ruck any longer than we have to.
  3. Given Grundy was essentially out of our best side by the end of the year, we actually haven't lost any of our best 22 players. We've lost a fair amount of depth, however we will gain two top 15 players in the draft and a fair chance one is Sanders or Curtin who will be ready to go straight away you would think. I would've loved us to pick up a gun key forward, but if there are none available then no point overpaying for someone you don't really rate i.e Mabior Chol or Jacob Koschitzke.
  4. The Pies won 3 finals by a combined 12 points. In 2021 we won 3 finals by a combined 190 and in 2022 Geelong won by a combined 158.... Wow everyone must be terrified of this unstoppable Pies team.
  5. If I was Hawhtorn I'd be saying thanks but no thanks... not sure why they would need him back
  6. It was a future first... which is actually a fair amount to give up
  7. Just saw something from Sam Edmund saying medically Gus is ok and plans to complete pre-season as normal. Did anyone else hear this?
  8. 6 votes to Michael Prior for complaining about having to play a better team
  9. Tim Lamb said this morning that Harrison will 100% be at Melbourne next year..... wonder how many more tweets we will see from Cornes and Theo Doropolous though
  10. Apparently Tim Lamb is coming up on trade radio at 12pm.... I may break my rule this year of not listening to any trade radio to just catch what he says.
  11. North probably have to give up more and it was just a quick thought. I think the Eagles will want multiple first round picks if they are giving up pick 1, which is why I think it will take a multi club deal.
  12. Because we are essentially sliding pick 11 back to 15 but receiving pick 3. I guess it depends if we want to go all in on 1 or have two picks within 20, one of them essentially being pick 4.
  13. Petty has two years to run on his contract and has not said he wants to leave. If we do this trade we are essentially saying we don't think we can win the flag anymore, that is how important Petty is to our team structure. Our key position depth is already weak, moving him on would be disastrous for that.
  14. I could see a 3 way trade with North & WCE happening. Melb Give: pick 6, pick 11 and future first. Melb Receive: Pick 3, pick 15 & future 2nd (WCE) North Give: pick 3 & pick 15 North Receive: Pick 1 WCE Give: Pick 1 & future 2nd round WCE Receive: Pick 6, pick 11 & future first (Melb) Maybe North give their future second to Eagles also, but that seems a pretty fair deal to me.
  15. Delusional. We all know this will get done late for the pick offered.
  16. I think we have two plans: Plan 1: Package it up for pick 1 and take Harley Reid, Kynan Brown and then potentially trade in an experienced player. Plan 2: If no trade is possible for Reid we will take two top 15 picks and K Brown.
  17. Geez, they are like the weird ex who just won't leave you alone. Let it go Adelaide.
  18. I think we plan to take 3 picks to the draft (including the one for Brown), so I imagine we are trying to get two top 10 picks if possible.
  19. No different to the 3rd pick we gave for Hunter. Clubs are happy to act in good faith in these situations.
  20. I'm guessing the chance that Gus is forced to retire and who knows whether Oliver will be in a mental space to play next season..... I have no doubt we plan to take a mid with our first pick though either way.
  21. Please Kane just stop talking Imagine a sliding doors scenario: 1. We hold onto him for two years. He kicks 50-60 goals both years and we win back to back flags. He leaves after 2025 and we get a bit less than this year. 2. We trade him for those picks. We get some decent developing kids and finish top 4 the next two years but can't quite get the job done. Your aim in football is to win premierships, not get the most draft picks for your contracted players.
  22. I'm sure glad we've won a final within the last 7,000 days.....
  23. I wouldn't be surprised if we do a swap with Geelong to move 11 up to 8 as well. If North do a swap with the Eagles it is actually a good thing for us, as it means one of Sanders, Watson or Duursma is likely to slide to our pick as the Eagles will take Curtin. If this happened I would be very happy with a draft of Sanders, O'Sullivan and Brown.
  24. Yeah but they would've gone for pick 11 if our offer wasn't the best.
