Trac cracked rib
I wonder if this was one of the same ribs he broke last year or a completely different area…. I think that information is also important

Trac cracked rib
Fair enough. From what I saw at training he looked similar to how he has in the past. Obviously I don’t know his GPS numbers though so can’t speak to his aerobic capacity

It’s not good, however to say he’s behind the 8 ball is incorrect and a bit insulting to Trac. He did a heap of work in his off season and has been in full training since essentially the start of training….

They have their own problems it seems with Nick Daicos dealing with plantar fasciitis….

Trac cracked rib
This really would be almost a non-issue if he didn’t have the huge hit last year. Obviously the main concern is his mental capacity after this, but I guess it could go one of two ways, 1. It impacts him negatively mentally or, 2. He took a big hit, went to hospital and this strengthens his confidence. Time will tell. i guess the main concern outside of that is if his rib area is compromised as a result of the hit last year

Would love to see a list of clubs ranked by government funding.... they would surely be right at the very top

I guess it depends what you view as ideal. I actually don’t think the MCG precinct is ideal personally for a home base. I’d much rather setup a community feel in an inner Melbourne suburb than an area that no one really visits outside of sporting events.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
The MCG precinct is never going to happen. Understand the middle of a race track thoughts, however it is really only used as a race track on weekends and a few weekdays in racing season….

The Mongrel Punt - Season Preview
Everyone I talk to constantly say ‘oh dees on the slide now’ or ‘rebuild time’. I’ve just been playing a straight bat saying we will see. Im happy that everyone no longer rates us… hopefully we prove them wrong.

Why do you think Caulfield is less than ideal?

Agree, being obsessed with the MCG precinct has held us back. Fingers crossed we can get the funding needed to complete the works!

I don’t think it’s fair to be putting it all on Pert for our lack of home base. This has been going on for 30+ years. The remit when he came in was probably to look at options around the MCG area, but they’ve finally accepted it wasn’t going to be possible so now we are progressing. Maybe we should’ve been looking out at Dingley or something 10 years ago, but most members/supporters would’ve scoffed at that idea. IF we get this Caulfield homebase done I think we will be the envy of all clubs, as it would be the best location in my opinion.
