They can be, but the power lies with the club that has the contract. They can choose the trade if the price is right. If the dockers low balled Richmond over Shai Bolton they wouldn’t have traded him. Just turned out the dockers had multiple first round picks.

Sure does… I also agree that Kozzy did some dumb stuff in the past, but he was really unlucky that last game and I was furious he got 3 matches. There was one earlier in the year against the Crows where he got a 1 match ban, I saw Newman do the exact same thing a week or two later and got a fine.

I agree that genuine small forwards is an area we are lacking and they are really important in the modern game. If I was Tim Lamb and Co I'd be looking at GWS as a side for recruiting opportunities, as they have an absolute plethora of small forwards. Brent Daniels, Darcy Jones, Harvey Thomas, Phoenix Gothard, Oliver Hannaford and Toby McMullin are all essentially small to medium forwards on their list. Realistically we have Kozzy, Chandler, Kynan Brown and Charlie Spargo....

They do to an extent. Imagine is Clarry or Trac were free agents last year, may not be with us now. They had long term contracts and as a result a trade did not eventuate.

He might have to... just because he wants to go to the Dockers doesn't mean they can get a deal done with 2 years running on a contract. If they finish top 8 this season their 1st pick won't be enough, however you would think the Eagles will be in the bottom 4. I'm still hopeful he plans to stay for at least the next 2 years, but plenty of water to go under the bridge. I also love how the media come out and speak as if its a fait accompli, completely ignoring the fact he's contracted and not a free agent. That's the way they operate these days though, because trade talk is the number one seller of news.
