  1. Media - we hate that the players and coaches are robots and don’t give us more in interviews. Also media - I can’t believe what they’ve just told us, what a disgrace
  2. I think the most noticeable change has been a lot of the players looking a bit leaner and a lot running PBs for time trials. This is important if we want to play more of a transition game, as the ability to repeat sprint will be important.
  3. Tbf Jones is the stoppage coach now, so his job is focused on stoppages not forward 50 delivery. Plus the coaches aren’t the ones who are kicking, so their skills as a player is completely irrelevant. Part of the forward connection is the skills of the players kicking to the forwards, but the other part is the forward line working together to create space.
  4. I was disappointed because with anything implementing change you have to go in knowing that there will be challenges and have plans to deal with this. That comment refers to Goody talking about his learnings, but we won’t really know if he has until we get into a period of the season where things aren’t going our way. That will tell us how much conviction he has in the gameplan and ability to see it through. I like Goody as a coach and have been someone who has backed him when a lot of people have wanted him sacked. Just voicing my opinion on that.
  5. Liam Reidy is the one we should look at end of 2025
  6. It was disappointing to hear Goody talk about panicking last year and going away from the new game plan… hopefully he’s learned from that. He said he has, but when push comes to shove will he live by that.
  7. Not sure they can play all of JVR, Turner, Jeffo and Johnson in the one side PF
  8. They won’t put Kolt on it as they will be hoping to get him back around mid season
  9. I don’t think it means he’s guaranteed to stay…. But it is nice to see!
  10. Good to hear about Mentha, but as mentioned by Gator maybe he thought the 2 goals from George were by Mentha?
  11. I reckon with his new role he will have a license to roam, a bit like Daicos from half back
  12. I reckon a bloke named petracca may get a crack round 1 as well
  13. Strange.... so they've only trained once this week?
  14. Yes, sorry I was referring to a different discussion we had about players eligible for two clubs
  15. My answer was relating to players to play over 100 games with Calrton and Melbourne. Ive narrowed down the FS player to two players but wont mention them 😜. He isn’t one of the players to have played over 100 with another club
  16. I do understand your points and don’t disagree that there are issues with the current academy, but still think they are a good idea but rules should be tightened. 1. Perhaps the player had to be born overseas or had two parents born overseas. 2. I think clubs should have to show long term support of the player in question. For example, they should have to had been in the academy prior to making a representative side or for a specific timeframe, say 3 years minimum. The AFL run their own programs for these groups I’m sure, but having links to a club I think is more important to keeping them in the game and getting them to AFL level.
  17. Yep that was the one. Someone mentioned it earlier today
  18. Tbf the ‘experts’ give their marks and rankings the next day…
  19. Potentially, but it isn’t a reason to scrap it. They should be reviewing it regularly to ensure it is fit for purpose. They also need clubs to show how they are supporting the players in their academy
  20. I disagree with this. The NGA zones are to promote AFL with both indigenous groups and people with a non-traditional background to afl, specifically parents that are born overseas. The point of this is to increase the numbers of indigenous players in the afl and to grow the game, which are both extremely important. They definitely need to tweak certain parts of it, but I think it is crucial for the growth of AFL and competing with other sports.
  21. Yeah, so what I’m saying is I’d prefer Chandler and Sharp in these roles and then I think it will be Langdon and Billings as starting wingman round 1. They will probably rotate them all a bit anyway, but I think our side performed better last year with Langdon on the wing as opposed to the half forward role he did.
  22. We should definitely do that.... doesn't make any sense. I guess the key is if Tairon Ah-Mu had one or both parents born outside of Australia. But without a doubt NGA should be opened to anyone with a parent born outside of Australia. Are we trying to grow the game or not?
