Training Ground?
Agree, being obsessed with the MCG precinct has held us back. Fingers crossed we can get the funding needed to complete the works!

Training Ground?
I don’t think it’s fair to be putting it all on Pert for our lack of home base. This has been going on for 30+ years. The remit when he came in was probably to look at options around the MCG area, but they’ve finally accepted it wasn’t going to be possible so now we are progressing. Maybe we should’ve been looking out at Dingley or something 10 years ago, but most members/supporters would’ve scoffed at that idea. IF we get this Caulfield homebase done I think we will be the envy of all clubs, as it would be the best location in my opinion.

Rebound or Rebuild?
I don’t think Kolt is competing with disco for a spot. I think it’s very possible we play JVR, Turner and Johnson in the one side. The other option will be JVR, Turner and Jeffo and then JVR will ruck. I think Kolt will be best 22 and will be in a half forward role.

2025 Ladder Predictor
I guarantee you we will finish somewhere between 1st and last

"We aren't great at any phase of the game"
Agreed and that’s totally fine. He’s very solid depth, which all strong sides need.

It’s a strange thing to be worried about…‘we’ve got some good news and bad news. Good news is we have a home Base! Bad news is no one can access it.’

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
I personally think Chandler is underrated for his kicking and Salem at his best is very good (think GF Salem). I get your point though and I agree we aren’t a great kicking side, but I think that’s more to do with who gets the ball for us more than personnel

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
We have some very good field kicks though. McVee, Bowey, Salem, Chandler, Fritsch, Rivers and Kozzy come to mind who would all be better than Tmac. Plus add Langford and Lindsay who should be above average type kicks.

Training Ground?
I’m not so sure about that. We are trying to get stakeholders on board, if they feel like we are only half in and could choose not to proceed, they are going to be less inclined to provide support.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
I’ll have a crack at mine, why should Werridee have all the fun? B: Bowey May Salem HB: McVee McDonald Lever C: Langdon Oliver Windsor HF: Petracca Turner Pickett F: Chandler JVR Fritsch R: Gawn Rivers Viney Int: Tholstrup Petty Langford Johnson S: Lindsay Emg: Sparrow Campbell Spargo May look a bit top heavy, however it would allow us to rotate the talls to ensure we always have options. Johnson would second ruck and Petty could be swung back or forward depending on match ups. We would also be able to sub off a tall at 3 quarter time and bring on a small without effecting team structures. If a wet day then you swap one of the talls out for Lindsay and move sparrow to sub.

Training Ground?
So would you like us to be running two plans simultaneously, getting two feasibility studies done, then two business plans done and then we choose the best option once both are approved? Not sure what the alternative is to going through the full process with a site, even if it isn’t guaranteed to go through.

Training Ground?
The land isn’t owned by the MRC, so other than providing input they won’t have a say on the final decision.

"We aren't great at any phase of the game"
Our ‘ageing’ stars are no different to a lot of other sides trying to contend. Lions have Neale, Cameron, Zorko all over 30. Collingwood have a heap of over 30s. Cats have Stewart, Danger, Cameron all over 30.

Training Ground?
I think the idea is that during the winter months the ground can suffer from too much use. Being able to switch to a different oval would give them time to recover, meaning training conditions won’t be effected.

2024 AGM
That’s not correct. We managed some high net investors and would often place investments ranging from $100k to multi millions in unlisted investments. In Australia to gain access to these investments you need to have either an annual income of $250k or net investment assets of over $1m. Given the MFC is essentially a corporate entity with over $20m of investment assets they would absolutely have access to these types of investments. It would be dependant on the investment mandate of the club’s investment trust as to what they can or can’t invest in.

I’d be very surprised if the whole fund was invested in a balanced portfolio. There is probably a portion of it that is invested in a managed fund or direct shares though. It would be great to know what they are invested in, but the majority of members probably wouldn’t understand what it all means so they probably don’t see the point… I’d be very interested personally but I have a background in that industry.

2024 AGM
I imagine that investment fund would have a lot of unlisted assets, which aren’t so affected by the share market. Having dealt with large investment portfolios in the past, they often get access to investments not available to the average punter. This can be things like large commercial debt and infrastructure projects that pay a guaranteed rate of return. Plus they would have some fixed income assets and there are income producing assets such as Metrics that offers an 8% return pa. While nothing is ever 100% guaranteed, you can manage the risk in different ways. For example, if it is a commercial build, for example a shopping complex, they will offer a much higher rate for initial investors while the project gets off the ground. Then in say Tranche 2 or 3, the rate will be lower but so is the risk, as they may have permits in place etc. so they now just need to get the build completed.

What is our stance on AI and do we think it will help or hinder our training methods

2024 AGM
The fact Brad Green had to answer a question about if the club was against anti-semitism blew my mind…. 1. Obviously the club is against that and any other form of racism or discrimination. If you’re not in the modern world then have a look at yourself. 2. What does that have to do with the club financial or on field performance?

I was happy to hear there is already $10m pledged towards the home base and hopefully more to come…

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 18th December 2024
Thanks for clarifying and good to know. It's funny, Pendlebury is not quick at all but seems to have heaps of time, same as the Bont. Hopefully he will be similar to those two, in any case I'm sure he will get up to speed.

When you say stuffs around with it, do you mean he spends too much time with ball in hand, or he isn’t a one touch player?
