PRESEASON 2025: Trip to the Red Centre
Think there was 2, Ricky Mentha Jnr and Malaki Champion. Both rookie selections though, so non selected in the main draft….

Dees being seriously underrated
I think early in the season they are probably more influenced by team supporter bases. As the season goes on and the pool becomes bigger then it will revert to more the punters views.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
Don’t forget Billings was coming back from two injury riddled seasons, so was probably lacking confidence in his body. His last three games playing off a wing were actually fairly solid. He looks super fit now and has done a full preseason, which I’m guessing he hasn’t done for a while.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
I think Billings will get first crack on the wing based on training reports.

2025 MFC Injury List
Bone stress seems to be pretty common in younger players. I assume for a lot of them their bodies aren’t fully ready for the increased training loads etc.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Nick Watson is 170cm and hasn’t stopped him. Prasad sounds like he could be a beauty. Will be interesting to watch him develop

Jeez how good is Harvey Langford looking!
Good to hear. We have definitely fallen behind other clubs in that space and clubs like Hawks, Saints and Giants have excelled. Whether you like social media or not (I hate it), it is ultra important to growing the club long term.

Dangerfield Wants Shorter Quarters
I would actually be for a shorter season, but there is zero chance the AFL will do that due to the broadcast money they would lose. Shorting the quarters you would think would also affect that, given it would be less available ad times....

Dangerfield Wants Shorter Quarters
I personally don't think shorter games will make me any more inclined to watch other games. I will generally watch a Thursday night and Friday night if I'm not doing anything and then maybe a Sunday arvo game. Do people really want to sit at home all day on the weekend watching 9 games? I doubt it.

I think the coaching issue actually comes back to the soft cap reductions the AFL implemented in 2020 due to Covid. They've never returned these to what they were before from my understanding. Given there is generally only one specialised ruck on each team and a part time back up, it is hard to justify using the cap on a full time ruck coach when the Mids, Forwards and Backs coaches are probably more important. I get what you're saying, I guess with Gawn and Campbell on our list we probably view them as player/coaches.

Dangerfield Wants Shorter Quarters
100%. One of the worst rule changes they brought in. Would be a simple change and reduce delays in the game.

I think Langford’s biggest strength will be that he can play anywhere on the ground. He will be a plug and play type player depending on what we need. Compare that to say a Jagga Smith, who will no doubt be an elite ball winner, but I don’t think he has that versatility in his game.
