I think Watts & Salem both need to come back. They are class players who we will need to win a final so we need the both up and going. Outs: Wagner (just don't think he is in the same class as Salem) and Stretch (not quite ready but will be a solid player long term). Sounds as though Viney will miss again but I think 100% he will be back should we play finals. If (when) that happens I would drop one of Harmes or Brayshaw. Harsh I know but Viney is a heart and soul player.

Are we planning a Demonland party after we win the flag this year? -
Four Melbourne players selected in the AFLPA 22Under22 squad

Yeah I was a bit confused that Hogan wasn't on the list?? Would be first choice full forward for sure. -
Kelly & Lever to the Dees. 3-peat here we come..... maybe 4.

Umpiring of MFC games very questionable

MK Ultra Program. Pretty much anything involving the USA -
100% agree. It's a joke. The fact that either incident is looked at is ridiculous. One was a genuine attempt to spoil and one player copped a slightly high hit? Big deal, it happens all the time and is called a free kick. The other he stopped running and Beams went head first into his knees. Media are a complete joke and so are the MRP. If he gets in trouble for either the club just has to appeal.

Very good result for us. Win both our games and we will avoid the Swans week one of finals. Richmond lose and we most likely play them..... that would be a dream.
-
As there is a bye before finals I see little benefit in resting anyone these next 2 weeks. Match fitness is important so we should be putting our best side out there, knowing they will all get the week off to rest up and then attack the finals.

I remember reading an article by Chris Judd talking about how the game really slows down from the start of the season to September. It's a long season and that is when guys like Lewis start to come into their own. He could be so important for us should we feature in September.
-
Yeah I can understand that. What I was referring to is if he is playing VFL then what is the difference to playing at AFL level? He could get a concussion at either level so if he is good enough he should be playing AFL. For what it's worth I think he will be selected this week.
-
I don't understand this logic. The majority of his head knocks came in the VFL. If he is ready to go and in form he plays AFL, simple as that.

I 100% agree with this. The MRP is farcical and their decisions are so inconsistent it isn't even funny any longer. Why is it that Grundy tackles Brown, who is knocked out accidentally, and he cops 2 weeks. Then Reiwoldt falls into the back of J Smith, who's shoulder is dislocated, and that is just play on? They are basically saying you can do the same thing, one you break their leg, the other they are knocked out, and that determines the result of your sanction. The system is broken and needs to change.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well obviously if you compare a 60 point win to a 30 point win that will occur. I was more referring to the fact that if you have a lower scoring game and win by a similar margin it can work out better. For example: Win 110/70 & 70/40 1618 1728 1688 1499 1569 1539 107.9 110.1 109.7 We win all 5 games we make top 4 no matter what our percentage is. -
I have no problem with this at all and it was a generous offer in the first place. It should start as of 2018 as we have the home game v the Tigers which will then alternate.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think the opposite. If you keep the opposition to a low score and win by 30-40 points it is actually quite good for percentage. At the end of the day I'll be happy with a 1 point win! -
List Structure: What do we actually need?
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Mach5's topic in Melbourne Demons
Off the top of my head we had: Watts, Trengove, Oliver, Tyson & Petracca as top 5 draft picks -
Greene should get one week up to two the same as Bernie. If he doesn't I'll be pretty disappointed with the MRP.
-
So is the whole AFL community going to slam Dangerfield for that dive? I hope so.

Apparently Sam Mclure on SEN reckons Trengove will play this weekend. Would be great to see him back if true. -

Our best 22 if we make it.

I 100% agree with this side. If we could field this side in the finals we will be hard to beat. -
We've got to challenge it. If Schofield got off for his then we just have to. We will roll over again though.
-
Don't bother
-
That would be outrageous. If he gets one week I'll be disappointed. Elbow was dumb but was insufficient force to warrant a week. The clash with Douglas he was going for the ball and braced for impact, which caught him on the shoulder not the head. If he gets any ban I want the club to challenge, please for once in our lives!
