They are losing a lot of experience in Mitchell & Priddis out of their midfield & Drew Petrie (not as big a loss). Plus Kennedy & Le Cras turn 31 & 32 next season. They are due for a dip down one would think.

This is it. Of course he's not going to have the highest contested ball numbers, it's not his job. His job is to run hard to create free options along the wins and push hard back to provide an option coming out of attack. It's like people expect every player to be a hard ball king as well as quick on the outside and a marathon runner. It doesn't work like that.

Probably because the Eagles inside mids have struggled. We shouldn't have this problem over the next 5 years with Oliver, Viney, Petracca & Tyson.

I don't always agree with you STMJ but I 100% agree with this comment. Adding Gaff & Lever would propel us into top 4 calculations for next season without a doubt. He would be very valuable on a wing at the G.
-
I'd happily give up a first round pick for Gaff. We need a hard running outside mid to compliment our inside ball winners.

Standard of play has definitely improved from last season. Really good ball movement by the Vics. -
Lachie Whitfield, Jake Lever, and other trade rumours

100% agree with this. I think a couple of things contributed to our poor finish. 1) The 3 x 6 day breaks in row resulted in a number of injuries to key players as well as young players tiring. 2) The players coming back from injury struggled to get back to their best: Watts, Gawn, Salem, Jones, Viney & even Tyson to a lesser extent. I still think a hard running outside midfielder is the key to our success moving forward though. Gaff and Whitfield are the two that come to mind. Pick up one of those two along with Lever and we will 100% play finals in 2018. -

I rate him as a second ruck/tall forward. He's a good mark ad a good set shot. We lack serious height i the forward line with most of our players about the 195cm mark. -
He's seemed to have struggled with injuries the last two years. 2016 I think he played a large portion of the season under an injury cloud from my understanding and in 2017 he had an interrupted pre-season and an injury mid-season. I hope we back him in as I think he is talented enough and has shown that at his best he is very good. And I'm not just saying that because he is my username and avatar. Also, he is still only 24 so still has a couple more years before he reaches his peak, think 27-30 yo.

Lachie Whitfield, Jake Lever, and other trade rumours

It will be interesting to see how they get that done? They've got no picks to play with. Would have to trade established players. I would hope we are staying in the frame for Whitfield if he wants a trade back to Vic. -

I understand what you're saying, but we also have no real understanding of the salary cap issues so who's to say we don't have the ability to do this? -

My ideal (realistic) trade scenario would be as follows: Trade One: We send pick 10 & Jack Watts to Carlton for Pick 4 & a 2nd round pick. Trade Two: We trade Pick 4 and a 2nd round pick to GWS for Josh Kelly. Trade Three: We trade 2018 first round pick to Adelaide for Lever Trade Four: We send a 3rd round pick to Collingwood for Mason Cox 2018 team: B: Jetta OMac Lever HB: Hunt TMac Hibberd C: Tyson Oliver Jones HF: Trac Hogan Hannan F: Cox Weid Garlett R: Gawn Kelly Viney Int: Lewis Melk Brayshaw Salem Depth: Pedo, Harmes, Bugg, Frost, JKH, ANB, Smith That team is playing finals. -
I thought Martin was from Qld?? Am I missing something here? Edit: Seems he is from Victoria originally.... not sure where I got that idea from.
-
You serious? Hall would cost more than a 2nd round pick.
-
Pick 10 maybe?

Already seen it on FB.

I really wish the club didn't send out that email mid week. So embarrassing!
-
Well I hope that burns the players all off season like it does the supporters. What a disgrace of a performance.
-
that's a good idea

Post Match Discussion - Round 23
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Goodwin really owes the supporters an explanation on how a team playing for a finals spot can be out tackled all day by a side playing for nothing but pride? It beggars belief. We put in the effort and still lose then I'll suck that up. Put in pi$$ weak effort for 90% of the day is just not on. So gutted by this performance. -
Martin seems the kind of guy who couldn't give a rats about team success.
-
Not a rumour but I'd be offering up a pick for Isaac Smith. He would be perfect on a wing receiving from our inside bulls.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

I think the trade could go something like: We give up: 1st Round pick & Frost Get: Lever & 3rd round pick -
Clayton Oliver. For being amazing.
