Some serious questions asked about Paul Roos ...
DubDee replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I see what you are saying but intensity/effort/cohesion/working for each other etc etc comes with time. Its too simplistic to say the players just need to try. It is much easier to have intensity with more senior players and players that have more than one preseason under their belt. a third of the team are still learning the game! I think we will get there. -

we've now had 7 players make their AFL debut for us. 7 kids! add to that the other few guys making their Melbourne debut and it is no wonder we are so inconsistent whether we like to admit it or not, we are in year 2 of a fully-blown re-build. That is Roos' reality. Dees supporters reality is this is year 9 but we started at ground zero last year unless we recruit 3-4 ready made senior players for next year we are no chance of playing finals. especially when you look at the teams that missed out this year hopefully we continue to improve and win ~10 games next year. and us supporters will have to suck it up (again) and find some more patience (again!) and wait until Brayshaw/Trac etc are tearing it up in 2017 -
he is 29 guys. ease up. having said that... NO

Top Bloke. I reckon he'll surprise a few and finish top 5 in the B&F this year. I just wish a few of other guys would take note of his attitude and application Tough call but I think the correct call. His best position is on the ball and we need to give the younger guys exposure next year.

Will the Big Russian get a farewell game?
DubDee replied to The Lobster Effect's topic in Melbourne Demons
The hawks dont hand out games as they are always playing finals. no reason not to send Jamar off with a game. He has been playing well enough for the past 2 months to deserve it anyway.- 85 replies

has played 27 games and not shown much. Hopefully getting confident and fit and strong will help and he can turn it around. but I doubt it. you can usually tell in a players first 20 games if they will be a quality player I hope I am wrong but the best we can hope for is an okay player.

So we can't comment on his assessment with a different view? i thought what a forum is for

Congrats Jonsey! Has shown amazing loyality and terrific mental strength over the past 8 years Sets a great example for the young guys. Still underrated by supporters and outside the club.

Wow so Roos is a better coach than Neeld? terrific. Neeld I assume, has the worst record of any AFL coach ever.

Resilience - MFC Players V MFC Supporters (Merged Thread)

Cheers up guys. Only 2 games to go -
bit hard to hold him to the '3 seasons rule' when we turnover 50% of the list in 2 years! If he had a fairly consistent squad I reckon he could get us up to speed Harmes, Stretch, ANB, Brayshaw, Vanders, etc etc are the ones struggling and they have hardly had one season. If we were a decent team these guys would be builiding their tanks in the twos
-
us beatuing carlton doesnt mean we had a good or bad season. they are shite and have nothing to play for. us winning wont give me any more confidence going into next year and we have no chance of beating Freo or GWS even if they dont give 100%
-
hard to give a rats about this game but Ill still watch. if we win itll be expected and no big deal if we lose itll be a disaster (again) such a pity to have another 'nothing' season. finals seem a long way off
-
If Gawn is out it would be nice to see Russian play a farewell game hes always tried his guts out for the club. just limited athleticism
-
I know how the AFL would react, ban them from trading for 2 years that ban on sydney was dead set ridiculous. make the rules up as they go

Narrowing down the draft - Dees to pick between 3 mids?
DubDee replied to Young Blood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great, so sydney pick up the best midfielder in the draft AGAIN! who needs the draft when you have feeder academies. what a farce -
my point is you could raffle the top few picks in the draft. often the later picks (upto 5-7) end up with the better player
-
surely the past obsession with the No 1 pick is gone. tank to get Boyd and miss out on Bontempelli? or tank to get whitfield and miss out on Wines or Stringer
-
Looks like he is dropping his guts!

Grand Final Eve Public Holiday confirmed
DubDee replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
I get paid to not be at work. Hard not to be for this even though it makes no sense. Sick of other countries having heaps more public holidays than us. They get 4 in May alone in Germany. -

after 2013 - possibly the worst season of any team ever - the way was up. anyone would have gotten us to improve. from winning 2 to 4 to 6 is not much improvement this year has been dissapointing, I refuse to get excited about only losing 16 games for the year. YAY we've improved! -
Brisbane Lions Consider Asking for Priority Picks
DubDee replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
beginning to understand why people cracked it when we got pick 3 for Frawley now. Leuenberg and Chip are fairly comparable as far as quality of player goes IMO. and rucks are always more in demand and get more cash so I wouldnt be surprised if they get pick 2. Chip wouldnt be on crazy money at the hawks so the highest band mustnt be that high. -
Seedsman is being put up for trade as he is massively inconsistent. plays a terrific game and then gets dropped after going missing. maybe that will come with maturity - I thought he was younger than 23? worth a look. if his attitude is good. we def need speed and skill off half back
-
6 day break? a week should be fine for the players to recover from the sniffles. The young dogs are due for a poor game after being up for so long and by god we are due a win at that horrible ground. Lets smash em!

I could see him going to QLD. just seems like that sorta guy, chilled out, get away from the press. if he was consistent I would hate to lose him but he isnt so I'm not too bothered
