  1. Roos reckons Garland and has been probably our most consistent player this year and people are still happy to see him gone? wtf I think some of you are trying to brace yourself for the dissapointment of him leaving but I personally think he will stay and really want him to stay. Garland offers a versatility that others cannot provide (eg Frost) so when we play a team with a small fwd line, we can cope. he can tag when needed, eg help out on ablett. Offers good rebound and uses the ball well. I believe he will really flourish further as we improve. He is a team man through and through. even played at CHF for half a year when asked and did ok And not every player needs to be a leader, some are not born to do it. you need some leaders and some solid contributors and he is certainly the latter. (needed to get that off my chest)
  2. Foxtel just showed the hird post match. Hird saying maybe people are believing the media's propaganda about the drug issue, crossed back to the studio and dwayne came up with this ripper: "Hird fighting the medias propaganda with his own. Maybe there were no injections after all?" Haha He is still delusional about it! Called Sam idiotic! The nerve of the man!
  3. From the article: suitors include Carlton, St Kilda, Geelong, the Western Bulldogs and Brisbane Lions I guess he not leaving for success then?!?! surely leaving for a team that will be finals next year would be the reason he would leave. dogs are a chance to have a good patch but not set in stone I hope Col stays, he has been a solid performer. gives our backline flexibility and good rebound the other line in the article: However, the Demons' encouraging 4-8 start to 2015 reminds me just how pathetic we have been. Yay we won 4 out of 12!
  4. I'm just glad we are not talking draft picks! the last few years it has been the only topic of conversation this time of year.
  5. We have a big advantage on a lot of teams. We have an easy draw overall. How would you like Hawthorns draw? play the top teams twice? they are giving a easy draw year after year in the hope we will improve but we never come to the party. If the AFL ever move to a 17 round comp, the different between Hawks/Swans and us will be even more stark.
  6. Only positive? We don't have to watch that mug Mitch Clark kick a bag against us
  7. So with Grimes, Pedo and maybe Hogan out and a sunday game we need SEVEN names to come in tonight for the extended bench so who can we copme up with???? Dawes, Spencer Harmes, Jamar, Bail, Mckenzie, Fitzy If ANB/Mitchie/Riley get dropped then we'll need to think of more names!! I feel nauseous
  8. Howe has been a massive disappointment this year. In his prime we needed him to step and he's gone missing. One or two decent games and some absolute shockers. No doubt he would have been dropped had we any depth. I had thought he would play through the middle and on the wing by now. A first round pick for Howe? My god you'd jump at that! worth a second rounder at best but I guess he is probably our only over-rated player in the media/footy circles The thing that has changed is that I dont really care if he leaves or not. Based on his no-effort games this year
  9. Bartel, Clark, Duncan, Horlin-Smith, Kelly, Macintosh, Menzel, Smedts, simpson, vardy, stanley they are just as bad as us if not worse. Surprise us for once Dees, win this
  10. Fantasy points wise the top 4 in order are: Jones Cross Vince TMac then a big gap, and next 3 are Hogan, Brayshaw, Vanders take the points with a grain of salt if you wish. if you dont know - they are combination of stats, disposals, tackles, pressure acts, inside fifties etc Cross's consistency of performance is often overlooked.
  11. Yep, I reckon Vince is our best player at the moment. Jones has dropped off his high standards this year (not by much) What were the crows thinking getting rid of him??
  12. It is no doubt having an effect but its not like we have any of our top players out like other teams do. What if TMac, Jones, Vince, Hogan were out? Jamar was dropped probably wont play again. JT dropped, JKH was dropped, Dawes quite possibly would have been dropped if not injured. Salem, Kent, Garland (and previously Viney) hurt but we should be able to cover fark im sick of us being this bad!! almost a decade of this shite! The saints were tipped for last place and 1-2 wins and are better than us already. I cant wait until pre-season.
  13. If the team is so [censored] stupid to not now to get back for the last 30 seconds well I give up
  14. I've watched the whole first half. Some good and some bad from toump but if you can see improvement you're blind
  15. Well done Toumpas. Stick it up some of the so called 'supporters' on this forum
  16. Good luck Alex! hope he plays well and is in the circle when we sing the song at the end of the game.
  17. good analysis So we should play Gawn for the rest for the year as first ruck. He can develop his tank and keep learning his craft. At least then we might have a decent 1st ruck then try to recruit a 2nd ruck/fwd or mould Frost/Pedo. (fitzy back up) Jamar retires. Speno kept as back up for Gawnski
  18. if the question is who has the most potential, then Gawn wins hand down. But he has shown very little so far that he can make it at AFL (aside from potential). He has been in and out of the team over the past 4 years, injuries have not helped but mostly, he has been dropped for performing poorly and not impacting games. I still have massive hopes for him and hope he turns the corner but to answer the question: we do not have a No 1 ruckman- We only have 2nd and 3rd choice ruckmen. If I had to pick, based on form this year and impact on games I would pick Spencer. These days in footy you need a competitor, and someone strong around the contest giving 2nd and 3rd efforts Recruitment will be interesting: do we target a talented No 1 ruckman? if so, get worried Speno Or do we target a fwd/2nd ruck (I know we have Frost but he could be more a defender) and back Gawn and Speno Talent wise, ruckman do not grow on trees - just look at how the Bombers are coping.
  19. Tyson, Grimes IN for Vandenberg, Garland
  20. Garland, vandeburg and Salem all a month out?! Fark me. Col is tough as nails playing with a broken hand
  21. Grimes is so stiff. Done everything asked of him. Don't think m jones is in competition with him for a spot so if seems Howe was picked instead of grimes. I would have gone for grimes. Howe has been pathetic in 4-5 games this year Spencer is the other one screwed over, finally gets some confidence and gets dropped. Maybe they want gawns height against Grundy?
  22. His value is plumetting the way he is playing. Would be better to 'rest' him
  23. I am not saying he is not going to go like chip did. his heart was being questioned and as a supporter, I backed him up and pointed out that only last week he was one of few leaders. Col has been a good player over the last 6 years and I will continue to back him
  24. I knowe are all gutted from last week but despite recent form, Port are a top 4 side. The Pies are not even a top 8 side in my opinion. The ladder means not much til everyone has played each other Its friday - lets save the pesimism for Tuesday! :-)
  25. Add Viney and Vince in there and we are not so far behind. My point is they used to have 6-7 players to watch so if we can tag one and play well ourselves we are a shot
