  1. you could play Ronald McDonald on Cloke and you'd be OK the way he is playing
  2. Oscar played pretty well on saturday in a poor defence. his best game I though. Certainly won't be dropped.
  3. and some people were calling for a red card system? these fools could have sent off our best player for no reason leave the MR to the MRP and just try to get your free kicks right
  4. interesting stat. But I think the Hawks defence won the game for them. They are calm and hit targets and their mids provide options. if you do this, it is hard for fwds to lay tackles. on the other hand if your defender plays a bad handball that puts a defender under pressure that will lead to 3-4 tackles in a row. still think our fwds could do better with pressure but the main issue is ball use at the back and mid spreading
  5. If rather support the losing team than support a bunch of duckers, droppers and divers.
  6. They could be 8-1 and the game would be all over. Missed sitters how can we allow so many marks in 50 on a wet day?
  7. What has happened to T Mac? Can't spoil against obrein? fark me.
  8. out of the 22 each week, maybe 5 defenders and 3 actual forwards? Hoges, Garlett, watts the rest are 'midfielders'. thats 14 for one game we ceratinly need more quality mids. more Isaac smith types
  9. I think Pedo was playing okay before he went out. 7 games, 5 goals, ave 14 touches, 2 tackles. not great stats. but he did provide a target, took some marks and put some physical pressure on. so he was playing well enough to keep his spot (just) but not well enough to be automatic in (in my opinion) im happy to see what Dawes can provide - assuming he has his body right! regardless of how dawes plays, I reckon he will be in for a few weeks regardless a quality KPF/2nd ruck should be on the list for a trade target. Hoges is doing it on his own with help from Watts
  10. Hawks team is an interesting mix of premiership stars and very young lads not impossible
  11. Risk playing AVB. I think he hasn't played a full vfl game yet so is give him an extra week great to see a tall in frost added down back and in Dawes up front ben ken is a bit stiff grimes must be starting to lose motivation. With 4 mids/half fwds coming out, he looked a likely in
  12. JT will be playing with around half the 22 for the first time at AFL level
  13. so just a standard saturday for you then mate?
  14. GO JT, ill be whipping out the old woolen #9 jumper for saturday! his last game was against WC 30 Mar 2014 where we scored 30 points and WC scored a lazy 123. hopefully a better result coming up! He has only played 2 AFL games in almost 3 years! ill back the team to play for him. this team Roosey has put together is no longer soft, it will put up a fight out of respect for JT
  15. [censored] I love trenners. If anyone deserves a good run.
  16. The thing is.... there is always a chance. At least this year there is. given how the season has gone, almost beating north, beating GWS and losing to Essendon - anything is possible. For the first time since 2008, the hawks are showing some cracks. only beat the saints by 3 points and have not put 4 quarter dominant performances in even against freo and brisbane we will have 2-3 surprising wins yet this year and im tipping this to be one.
  17. MELBOURNE Player Injury Estimated Return Angus Brayshaw Concussion 2 weeks Colin Garland Cheekbone 3 weeks Matt Jones Back Test Mitch King Knee Season Heritier Lumumba Concussion TBC Clayton Oliver Thigh Test Christian Salem Illness TBC Jack Viney Fractured knuckle/suspension 3-4 weeks Updated: Tuesday, May 31 Oliver will be back. so 5 best 22 out. or 4 if you think Garls isnt best 22. injuries starting to add up but this should be an excuse Anyone else want to see Vince play on the ball for the full game? miss his class, toughness and influence
  18. Classic line The man they really missed this week was Clayton Oliver.... His ability to stand in traffic and dodge tacklers like Neo avoiding bullets in The Matrix until the right option appears would have added much needed calm to a side who responded to Port’s pressure like they were evacuating a burning building.
  19. news for next week: Fasolo bung shoulder may miss QB, Moore is having surgery. Adams bad hammy will miss gees it would be sweet to beat those fools again
  20. unfortunately our game plan is not to stick close to forwards. this zone is doing my head in but I guess it is natural for a big cghange like this to take some time for the defenders to adjust to. Grimes has certainly done enough to get a run. if viney is out, id bring him in. his leadership and experience will be handy against the Hawks
  21. does anyone think Viney will get off? the first two punches I reckon were insifficient force for a suspension but the third is low impact id think. hard to see him avoid a week.
  22. After yesterday and looking at the table we are no chance to make the 8 this year. With the bottom four being so bad you'll definitely need 13 wins to make it. Adelaide looked good in the weekend. Can't see us winning two more than them over the rest of the season
  23. can anyone access herald sun articles? if so there is one up about 3 key port players not being certainties to line up tomorrow with a pciture of Trengove and Hartlett. they would massively miss them both esp trengove
  24. Hoges can't leave his little mate behind surely?!
  25. IN -Tyson, Jetta, Pedo OUT - Oliver, Michie, O Mac Grimes - stiff as a teenage boy's sheets We need another fwd tall option/ruck in Pedo. Port not overly tall up fwd I think but if Pedo needed in def he can go back everyone on notice as Grimes, Trenners, Oliver, AVD, Dawes, etc all ready to come in shortly!
