  1. Far out I would gutted if this is true. people thinking we'll be fine based on 2 untried youngsters are kidding themselves. Hogan will be one of the top 10 players in the AFL for the next 10 years and losing him could be the difference between winning a flag or not
  2. *just remembered we traded out first rounder* we obviously knew this was a rubbish draft
  3. Who will be this year's No.1 draft pick? call me a bitter man if you will, but I am loving that this years draft is open and there is no standouts - so far. Freo blantently tanking and the Dons getting rewarded for being drug cheats was making me sick. I am also assuming the Bears will get a priority pick as QLD is struggling So hopefully they will not benefit as much as they would want. at this stage the top batch seem pretty similar so our pick ~10 hopefully will be fairly similar to the top couple
  4. awesome shots! well done to the club for giving us the access that Roos / Viney shot. goosebumps. Goody will do well, but we will miss the genius man management of Roos.
  5. This time last year it would have been T Mac but he has been inconsistent recently so Jetta gets the nod. Id back t Mac to come back into form though, no one tries harder
  6. They'll look at mids especially that are tired or carrying knocks to take the week off. No way Newton should get dropped, played well, kicked a really important goal. We need to reward hard work and good performance
  7. Viney by a street
  8. The hogan one where he was outside 50 with watts in the square alone was unbelievable. Then hogan handballs it? i guess he somehow didn't see watts.
  9. Terrific to see so many under 21 yo's getting votes and leading the club. 9 players with less than 20 games today
  10. We really have to bring in Dunn or O Mac and play them fwd/2nd ruck any other option? hogan and T Mac can help out around the ground in the ruck but not centre bounces
  11. agree Garland is playing average footy. might be in over Dunn as he can play small and is a bit quicker. bears dont have too many talls
  12. Salem is dropped as he has been performing well below his ability. Hasn't been many chase down tackles like last year. I support him being dropped. They showed faith in him by bringing him straight back in. I am liking the new standards.
  13. Blown away by this bloke. What a pick by the recruiters, he was nowhere a year or two ago. Keep eating the nuggets on game day Clayton!
  14. surprised most want a KFB and the least want a KPF. as far as trading in players, Id say KPF/2nd ruck is one of our biggest needs if not the biggest. Dawes, Pedo are not upto it. Weed and Hullett will not be impacting games this year or next at the least. they should play some games next year but they wont get us to finals Put Frost down back with Mac brothers and Dunn, Garland and draft a young defender We need a proper target up fwd to complement Hogan
  15. thanks for the reply I just thought these guys retired based on future potential issues rather than having confirmed brain damage but I could well be wrong. 100% the priority is player health but I'm just shocked about the change in stance from 'she'll be right' to 'we better rest him for half the year' how is Selwood, bartel, out there playing for all these years, surely they would have had 10+ concussions. hopefully this mega cautious approach is not being driven by the threat of law suits if this was an epidemic, I havent seen much the evidence of players from the 70's 80's being diagnosed. i would hate to see players careers cut short based on an area that we have said is in its infancy research wise anyway, not trying to be controversial... just my general uneducated vibe on the issue.
  16. this really is alarming if players are at risk of brain damage Does anyone know of players that have brain damage from footy (I think there was Bell?). I would have thought if the risk is as big as predicted there would be dozens of players especially from the 80's when they would beat hell of each other. Prior to this generation players would always play the next week and almost always keep playing in the same game, so hopefully we haven't seen an influx of affected players but I have not heard of any others by the way, I ain't no doctor and don't have a lot of medical knowledge on this topic, so excuse my ignorance if others do
  17. I cannot believe he didnt get 2 weeks for that elbow - flush to the head. to say that wasnt intentional but Jettas was is ridicuous but then again, it was a Hawks player
  18. knowing Roos, he would have pushed him to get the defensive side of game rock solid first. im expecting a big 2nd half of the year from this fella
  19. he was great last year but this year he is at 52%. even Gawny is higher than that! Dead-eye Wattsy is at 73% which is remarkable
  20. I have come to the conclusion the umpires decide year on year which rules to enforce. at the moment, incorrect disposal and throwing (unless blatently obvious) are not being paid as this lets the game move really frustrating the changes to the game are being driven by umpires
  21. Surely Jetta doesn't get rubbed out for that? it wasn't intentional, more of a reflex with out backline in bits he would be a big out. he is turning into one of our most important players
  22. 38038 only 1,962 to go to the big 40K! we're a chance
  23. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-05-12/brayshaw-salem-available-for-selection M Jones has a back issue hence the soreness and the mystery aspect to the injury. AVB one week away. H still out Salem/Gus available
  24. I am still scared from that game in round 20. First 12 goals kicked by the dogs. 12! the footy world is watching with lots of good press for the Dees thus week. Carn the farkin demons!!
