  1. Personally I don't see the term pedant necessarily as an insult. I was having this discussion with my son (the MFC supporter not the throwback RFC supporter) last night and I stand by the origins of the meaning and can imagine being described a pedant as a compliment. There is nothing wrong with being right.
  2. I think the wet will suit Oliver, his work at stoppages is VG. When watching replays watch his work, I say replays because during the match I watch the ball and you miss much of his good work. Edit:- Also he is so quick at times that you miss his possessions.
  3. Microwave sales in Punt Rd will go through the roof.
  4. As CEO would PJ be across all recruiting matters? I would think the footy department would cover that. PJ would probably only hear things at a more advanced stage.
  5. NO. But a tall could become ill and need to be replaced. (Nudge, nudge, wink, wink....say no more)
  6. Django, according to Prodee, Watts is a permanent forward and spends no time in the ruck so you must be wrong. And everyone else for that matter. I like Watts in the ruck it gives us flexibility and he has a nice leap. Dare I say it he has more courage in the ruck that Dawes.
  7. Jonesy hoping he wouldn't get caught helping a pie out. https://twitter.com/WLudbey
  8. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-06-16/worsfold-tells-demons-to-back-off-over-interest-in-michael-hibberd ESSENDON coach John Worsfold has warned Melbourne to cease any direct talks with banned Bomber Michael Hibberd after the Demons made their interest in the half-back clear. It is protocol for clubs not to approach players directly while they are contracted, instead dealing with their management. "I've spoken to him (Hurley) several times and caught up with him a couple of weeks ago … I saw him on the weekend," Worsfold said. "I'm more than comfortable that Michael's aware of what we're building here. "It's not my call to make about him re-committing for the longer term (but) I'm confident that's the way it'll go." --- http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/essendon/essendon-guilty-verdict-banned-players-advised-of-what-they-can-and-cant-do/news-story/69f4b470a62579550fcfb731270007c5 The 12 players still on the Essendon list cannot enter the club’s Tullamarine HQ and there can be no contact with coaches, club staff or players about their preparation or training while in forced exile. -- Dancing a little close to the edges I would think and in the same breath complain about another club that clearly stated that it had been in touch with the players camp. Not the player.
  9. HERITIER Lumumba is back in full training and getting close to returning, according to coach Paul Roos. The dashing half-back has been sidelined for the past six rounds, due to concussion, but Roos said Lumumba was making good progress. “’H’ is terrific, so it’s great that he’s back in full training. He got the all clear last week to resume,” he said on Roos’ Views. “He’s a bit like Angus [Brayshaw, who is also sidelined with concussion] – it’s a bit more about his fitness levels, even though I’m sure he’d be pushing to play this week. But we’ve got the bye the week after and it’ll depend on how he responds. “We’ll see him back in the next two or three weeks, which will be really, really good. We saw what a quality player he was earlier [in the season], but the concussion [issue] is a big thing now. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-06-16/lumumba-close-to-resuming-roos

  11. Not yet, no mention of Nazi Germany or Hitler, give it time. Edit:- Whoops, I may have mentioned the war, but I think I got away with it.
  12. Stuie he is an augmentative strop, a little like you, and me and many others here. Edit:- I meant argumentative strop but I like augmentative that could work.
  13. Other than evidence you mean? You clearly have your biases as we all do, I disagree with you. When everyone disagrees with you it is possible that they are right.
  14. Except when he is in the ruck or playing back or on the wing.
  15. One of sports greatest commentators Richie Benaud had 8 rules for commentary, Never ask a statement. Remember the value of a pause. There are no teams in the world called 'we' or 'they'. Avoid cliches and banalities, such as 'he's hit that to the boundary', 'he won't want to get out now', 'of course', 'as you can see on the screen'. The Titanic was a tragedy, the Ethiopian drought a disaster, and neither bears any relation to a dropped catch. Put your brain into gear before opening your mouth. Concentrate fiercely at all times. Above all, don't take yourself too seriously, and have fun. -The channel 7 commentators get every one wrong.
  16. Never trust anything a journo like McClure says.
  17. I spoke to a friend of his last week. He said that he will be fine, recovering really well, Dees being cautious.
  18. He did a great job getting his flag through homophobic Chinese customs.
  19. I did, looked out the window, saw snow, no footy until QB so why not. Oh I see what you mean, yes the red wine and meals were great.
  20. There is not much snow, about 150mm on Bourke St (mainly man made)
