A footy blog considering Descartes, existentialism and boozing, you've got to love it.

The pink helicopter is being serviced, Bronnie may have a special offer on hers.

The AFL should have demanded the medal back. After the appeals are exhausted they should award the medal to Cotchin/Mitchell. The 34 did not continue playing pending an appeal, so Watson's tainted Brownlow should be stripped from him. The AFL try so hard, it hurts to watch, grow a spine Gil. Make a decision.

Well butter me both sides! In the wet it cannot be marked and in the dry it stays airborne permanently. Sorry DC, the door was open and after that tin hat comment I have been scarred, may have to start wearing the rubber undergarments again. I think Fitzy will do OK in the wet with his ruck work but no 60 meter goals tonight.

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
ManDee replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Forums are like a smorgasbord, some things you like some things you're ambivalent about and then there is that horrid rubbish best left alone (coleslaw) Don't get me wrong I have tried coleslaw and at it's best it is edible. Saty can be like coleslaw, Stuie like pickled haggis, ProDee like elgbaer or BBO kottbuller. Forgive me for I digress, If you don't like a poster you are free to ignore them, if you engage you have to live with the aftertaste. Some coleslaw is OK -
Welcome to the loony farm Dom. I thought we should have kept him. I am happy he played well. As for biggest list management failures of our history, well that is quite a stretch. He would probably have to win 2 Norm Smith medals and a Coleman and a Brownlow to beat some of our doosies.

DC, careful discussing personal matters, without DNA, eyewitnesses and photographic evidence. My opinion on Mitch Clark is that he wanted out of Brisbane (not alone there) then we gave him a better offer. Going to Geelong in my opinion was a mutual agreement based on something.

I quoted a newspaper article. You I believe misquoted Nasher.

You are so combative. Stuie, many a true word is said in jest. Hartlett said Boak may have been around his girlfriend. He then retracted it. Both Boak and Hartlett broke up with their partners soon after. Hartlett is now on the market, read between the lines or not, but something is fishy don't you agree. And for the record I place no blame on any of the parties if something did happen, that is life.

The Power leadership pair dismissed claims they are at odds — and have split the team base — since Hartlett said he had amicably ended his relationship with Lauren Jones, while Boak has also recently ended his relationship with his own girlfriend, Renee Barendregt. Boak said: “There are now about five or six different stories about us — and none is right.” Hartlett added: “Each week, almost every day, it is, ‘Have you heard the latest’. It has become laughable how this has developed into something that is not right. It began as a throwaway line — but it is now beyond a joke.” Boak, 27, is believed to have split with Ms Barendregt just before the AFL season started. The former couple, who started dating in 2012 before taking a break, had reconciled in 2014. Port captain Travis Boak with ex-partner Renee Barendregt on the red carpet for the 2015 AFL Brownlow Medal presentation. Neither Boak nor Hartlett wanted to comment on their private lives or ex-partners in the media. Hartlett, 25, traces the unsavoury commentary on his relationship with Boak to a “tongue-in-cheek” remark he made at a players’ sponsors function this month when he played the audience for a laugh. “At that stage, my partner and I had a very civil breakup of our relationship,” Hartlett said.

How do we know fact from fiction? Certainly the media are guilty of making things up. How do you know that some posters aren't posting facts?

Nash, is it OK to talk about Mitch Clark & depression? Is it OK to talk about Scully and his family? Is it OK to talk about Damian Martin and his chopsticks? Is it OK to talk about Paul Roos going to Hawaii?

They only showed the top 5 in the Age. Petracca 2, Mills 49 and Oliver 1 vote, seriously. I'll take my two players for 3 votes Vs Mills any day and he only received 46 more votes than them or is that 15 times as many votes!.

From http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/lachie-whitfield-case-graeme-allan-faces-allegations-texts-were-deleted-20160830-gr4xi1.html "The AFL, which has known about the allegations for almost 15 months, will now hand details of its lengthy investigation to the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority. .......... Both Collingwood and Brisbane were informed by the AFL several months ago – when they were interviewing Allan and Lambert for positions at those clubs – that there was an ongoing integrity investigation involving the pair. Both reportedly told their new clubs they would be cleared of any wrongdoing. " Disrepute...mmm do you remember tanking... not guilty but....MFC guilty of bringing the game into disrepute. If there was nothing here and no evidence it would have been cleared up by now. Lots of talk about deleted texts etc. And although you suggest it is a cheap pot shot by an ex, she has said that she worried about him. If only some of the Essendon players partners were worried. They are now. PS, How are the rose coloured glasses going, my hat is fine thanks.

Mach5 may I posit, 1 Suspected of avoiding possible drug test - 16 month investigation would indicate probably true 2 Taken illegal drugs - 16 month investigation would indicate probably true 3. brought the game into disrepute...??? - No doubt here. We are talking about it, it is in the papers...True Weirdly it's been know about and "investigated" for much of this year, yet won't be resolved till after the finals...True Blows my mind how corrupt and blind the AFL have become. ...What more do you need, Essendon, Carlton, ... True

No penalties to the EFC subsequent to the players being found guilty. The penalties you refer to are for governance & duty of care failures in 2012 handed down in August 2013. The players were found guilty in January 2016. What penalties have been applied to the club since the guilty verdict? NONE!

More of a Pontiac man myself.

They have received no punishment for implementing a program that led to 34 players being found guilty of using PED's. Indirectly they have been without 10 players as a result of the players ban, but the club were rewarded with extra players outside the salary cap and 1st pick in the draft.

Elite sportsperson disappears and misses a game to avoid possible test. Yeah right, that will be private.
