  1. I thought Tom had 1-2 moment's in each game, but I thought Weid looked more threatening and physical today. I do think Weid is better deep and TMac is better between the arcs.
  2. Weid crashed packs in a way that TMac hasn't all year.

I don't think id play Jackson as one of the 2 kpfs yet. Similar to my above comment: play Jackson as a mobile flanker instead of Melksham. A third tall so runs around.

Interesting idea. I'm not sure if he is big enough for the no 1 or 2 role up front either. Could consideration be given to replacing TMac with the 196cm Brown and using Smith as a mobile forward instead of Melksham?
  5. TMac averages 8 disposals, 0.8 goals, 3.4 marks, 2.6 score involvements this season. Today Weid kicked 2 goals from 7 disposals, took 3 marks and had 3 score involvements. TMac hasnt been in form but if he kicked 2 goals per week we'd have been happy. In addition, although Weid didn't take many marks and also ran under the ball a free times, I feel he hit and halved contests much more often than TMac has over the last 4 weeks, creating more ground ball opportunities.
  6. Its just a one man monologue.

TMac for Brown if injured. If Melksham goes it, surely Hunt or Jones get first chance? He'd be the only change for me. Maybe Lockhart for Rivers, but you can't fault Lockharts endeavour or effort.
  8. Im wondering who got left behind then? My guess was the following 12: Kolodjashnij Jordon Nietschke Baker Petty Chandler Wagner Wagner Bradtke Hore Sparrow Dunkley But if Sparrow is there, someone else stayed (Preuss, Bedford, Spargo?).
  9. Is Sparrow with the squad? Im guessing not: we left 12 behind and only 13 haven't played a game this year.
  10. 6 Gawn 5 Viney 4 Langdon 3 Oliver 2 Petracca 1 Omac Apologies to May, but those couple of grubbers late cost him the 1.
  11. A few times i felt he has been nudged under it a touch perhaps?
  12. Lockhart good pressure this quarter and effort is good but just isn't there.
  13. Assuming that's the one percenter end pressure act?
  14. Dirty day for Lockhart. 1 free kick against, 1one percenter, and 1 pressure act, being his only stats. Its possible the one percenter and the pressure act were the same action.
  15. Omac one of our best so far
  16. 50 m penalties mean we don't need to worry about connection between the mids and forwards. Soft 50 though.
  17. First quarter of "trying to adjust our pace". We should have been doing it for years but assuming it was a real focus this week, it hasn't been bad. They still need to work out when to run and when to pause. But it's a good start.
  18. A first for viney!
  19. Clear they are trying something. Might take a but to get it right. Hopefully it doesn't take too long.
  20. Visible change in game style so far. Let's see if it continues.
  21. I agree with this. I've wondered if one of the reasons they are persisting is because he is one of our best kicks inside 50. So despite the wretched form, his upside is critical to fixing our main problem.
  22. I can agree with that. But it's only 1 year "too many". He is on a four year contract. I'm guessing that that last year is the price we pay for buying a free agent (instead of a draft pick), and I'm ok with that. He had 140 games of exposed form, so we knew what were were buying. He may have performance clauses in the contract, he may not. But the cap was expected to raise during that time too. https://www.afl.com.au/news/52273/inaugural-giant-tomlinson-joins-dees-as-free-agent-compensation-revealed
  23. "Goodwin is too stubborn" "I can't believe Goodwin is giving up on the Smith-down-back / Mid-size-forward-line / Tomlinson-trade / insert-other-tactical-option plan already!"
