  1. Nah, that would take a bit. I didn't have Toumpas in my top 20 that year, I can't see us stuffing up this pick, at least not to that extent.
  2. Its just Anderson's opinion, it doesn't mean a lot. Our football department would've seen A LOT of these kids, and Paul Roos is one of the better talent scouts in the business.
  3. They should've been thereabouts this season. Eventually they'll get closer, and fans will laud praise upon Buckley. But I can't see these individuals 'buying in' to the point where they challenge well structured sides like Hawthorn, and to a lesser extent West Coast/Fremantle. Its not that Collingwood don't have the list, they do - probably even have the best midfield in the game, yet they didn't even make the 8. Cloke also didn't perform, Elliot looked disinterested and selfish. White didn't look up to it. The addition of Howe probably just means they have 2 Jamie Elliott type players. Darcey Moore is a shining light, but he is still a kid. The addition of Treloar will help Collingwood, but its not like they were lacking class in their midfield in the first place IMO. They have issues 'buying in', and they have forward/backline issues.
  4. I agree, I like Glen, he is such a beautiful kick.
  5. They are good at micro-managing things off-field, that's about it. As much as I like their list, it is full of individuals, and they don't look like 'buying in' anytime soon. Buckley just isn't a very good coach, he isn't a likable person, and the playing group don't play for him, they are massively underachieving, and big game players look disinterested.
  6. He missed the pre-season with OP. Started slowly because of it, that is why he didn't get an invite to the Nationals. Didn't poll many votes in the first half of the season, but came home like a steam train in the second half of the year - and won the Morrish medal. I have no doubt he is the best mid in the draft, but whether we take him or not is another story. But he should be still there at 7.
  7. Kennedy is a level above Melksham IMO. That isn't saying a lot though. But I expect Kennedy to break into the midfield by round 1.
  8. Oliver is a better clearance player. Won the Morrish Medal off of a very limited pre-season.
  9. I don't think the AFL are having a bad run, I just think that to date - they have had a good run. A lot of incidents get covered up, either by club or league. Now social media is firmly entrenched into society, I expect there will be far more incidents. AFL players are under a lot of pressure, IMO it is unrealistic to expect them all to act 'proper'. Issues of rape, assault, drugs, gambling, alcohol, domestic violence - these are all broader societal issues, and AFL players are not immune them. That isn't to justify their behavior in the slightest, they should be held accountable like the rest of us, but I am never surprised to hear of these types of incidents, sportsman are human like the rest of us.
  10. I hope we take Francis at pick 3 and Oliver at pick 7.
  11. Yep, definitely. Would be a good PSD pick up.
  12. Fair call. He could be looking after family though. Investment/looking after family/holiday house in offseason.
  13. Good pedigree, his old man was a good player, coached down in Mid Gippy. But according to my old man, Sam's Grandfather was a very, very good centreman. Sam should fill out, both his old man and Grandfather were stocky blokes. He'd be a good pick up for us, I think he'll be a good player.
  14. I don't see the big deal, Jesse probably wants to spend his offseasons in Perth, good on him. After this year we will be on the up, Freo will be on the slide. They have lost McPharlin, Crowley, possibly Pavlich, Sandilands after next year, Barlow not long after, Mundy isn't getting any younger. On top of that, they've wasted picks on Sylvia, Pearce, Bennell. It all adds up to a very quick descent down the ladder.
  15. I don't know if he was ever that marketable, I mean, he still has a WADA case hanging over his head. At the end of the day St Kilda need a KP back man, and at his best, Carlisle is a very good player. This latest saga will blow over fairly quickly, it will be forgotten about once Carlisle plays a couple of good games. In the meantime, I think St Kilda will ask for random urine - or possibly even blood - tests throughout the year. Then if Carlisle fails them he'll pay through his pocket.
  16. Kennedy will consolidate a spot in our midfield by round 1. He has a lot of upside and is definitely an upgrade on M.Jones, Bail and Riley. IMO he'll be the best of our pick ups, I also expect Tom Bugg to start in the 22 by round 1. I know you're probably not excited about these guys, but they are a step up on our depth players of the past.
  17. Yeah that's what I reckon. Won the Morrish medal from a long way back, and didn't even have a pre-season. I think if he played during the champs he'd be spoken of as a top 5 pick. Reminds me a bit of De Goey.
  18. That's a worry.
  19. One positive to come from this is that Carlisle should at least be a little more cautious of the people he surrounds himself with, and calls 'friends'. If this didn't come to light now, there is no telling how long Carlise would've continued along this path. At least St Kilda now know that there might be an issue, its obviously not ideal for them, but its better they know what they are dealing with. IMO this whole debacle raises further question marks around the culture at Windy Hill.
  20. I feel the same about Clayton Oliver at 7.
  21. Petracca is a different player entirely. Petracca is far more athletic, balanced and explosive than Curnow. Curnow is a raw package compared to Petracca IMO. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing, Jesse Hogan was a raw package when he came to the club.
  22. Yeah fair call. But the reasoning behind Schache to Brisbane is fairly simple - his old man played for the club, and Schache has longed for the opportunity to play for Brisbane, he appears (at least what I read) to desire Brisbane. On top of that, Brisbane are unlikely to take Francis - due to their poor record with SA kids of late. Also, they really are screaming out for a KP player, so that perhaps works against Parish landing there anyway. I won't try make a case for Weitering as a lock to Carlton though, because you are right, anything can happen.
  23. Weideman?
  24. We had 6, and seemed pretty keen to get ahead of 4 & 5, probably for a reason. We'll soon see I guess, but based on that I don't think we'd trade 3 & 7 in exchange for 4 & 5
  25. I don't think Freo would do that deal. They are in a flag window IMO. And also, would Neale be as effective without Sandilands tapping it down his throat, he is an extractor, and a big reason Fyfe and Mundy get a free run at things. Appness is also just a speculative athlete atm, he doesn't offer much going forward IMO.
