  1. Hibberd is off the board now - Norf.
  2. That would be a good result. 1 of them might be there.
  3. Yeah lets pray. Young Lovell.
  4. A mid and a tall, fantastic.
  5. This kid is going to be an absolute bull. Just what we need.
  6. I don't see any point re-living past drafts. People like to re-do drafts and laud over them, I find that to be pointless. What is done is done. Bring on tonight's draft.
  7. If Olisik is Oliver then I no longer want him.
  8. Its good there has been no leaks. We really have no idea as to who we will take at 3.
  9. I wish him the best the regardless of who he plays for. Personally, If I were him, I would put in the hard yards down at Casey. But I won't begrudge the young kid if he grabs the opportunity elsewhere. Either way he'll have to put in a lot of hard yards. The satisfaction of making our list would be greater though IMO.
  10. I just looked at Freeman's choices. Play under Buckley for less money/opportunities vs Play under Richardson for more money/opportunities. Pretty easy decision for mine.
  11. You mean Jake Stringer, and its unlikely we'll find a comparison to Stringer. He is Ablett Snr like in his strength, confidence and football skills. Unlikely to reach the heights of the great man, but likely to be a superstar all the same. I don't see any comparisons in this draft.
  12. Not very coordinated. Undersized for a ruck and under skilled for any other position on the ground.
  13. I don't know, I think Wines might've until it was leaked we were taking Toumpas.
  14. IMO Francis reads the play better than Stringer. But I think its hard to compare Stringer to anyone, because he was touted as a no1 pick before he got injured. So I don't think any club really undersold him, it was more of a risk factor. At the time the Bullies had a couple of picks, taken the risk and it paid off. At the time of the draft, and on face value, I see less risk attached to Francis. Its all good and well to sing the praises of Stringer now, but most scouts erred on the side of caution at the time.
  15. Seems like the logical replacement for Pia.
  16. Yes Goodsy.
  17. I agree, I don't think he is a tall option as a forward. Seems like a jack of all trades - master of none. Just on limited viewing of Curnow, he didn't impress me as a ruckman, was a 3 touch player as a mid, and was only marginally impressive as a forward. But he was more of a lead up forward - as opposed to a tall forward option. If we were looking for a tall forward option, we wouldn't look past Weideman, I think he has better hands than Curnow - and reads the play better. In saying that, I wouldn't take either. They COULD both end up being great players, but there is too much uncertainty around them, I would be shocked if we taken either.
  18. 3 is too high for him and 4 or 5 isn't, BS. Poor argument. If he is going to be any good, then pick 1 is even a value pick. I think Francis is the best kid in this draft, Carlton should seriously consider him at 1.
  19. Pretty neat assessment. I think he is spot on with Francis at 3 and pointing out that Curnow and Weideman are being over hyped. Don't mind his assessment of Milera either, he is such a great mover, its a shame we didn't see more of his SANFL form earlier on.
  20. Smart move really. Imagine the headlines if he taken the breath test and blew the bag apart. I'm thinking he was plastered.
  21. Unless we are 100% Francis lasts to 7, then we have to pull the trigger at 3.
  22. Same, I really like Glen. He is a very good decision maker and executes well. Glen and Skinner would be my roughies.
  23. And that's a good thing. I remember PJ saying a few years back that we needed to create an environment in which players wanted to be a part of. I reckon we might be making some progress in that area, at least from an outsiders point of view, the club looks like a more enjoyable place to be. We aren't hearing as many horror stories anymore, which can only be a good thing.
  24. Actually, Emma used to be pretty good before she got into the media, and that is no knock on her for moving up in the world - just means she has changed her methodology. She appears to have moved away from assessing players based on her own point of view, towards assessing players based more on the view of recruiters, which is ok, it gives us fans an inkling into who certain clubs might take. Obviously Knightmare has a more hands on approach to his work, he gets out there a lot. I don't think he would claim to be any better than anyone else, but from a fans perspective - he is relevant, and probably the best armchair scout going around.
  25. Yeah I agree. I think Petracca will be a handful up forward. Petracca could play one out in the forward line if Hogan wanted to move up the ground for a bit. I think we'll see that happen at times, I don't see Petracca as a flanker. I see him as a midfielder/deep forward. He holds a lot of advantages over most AFL players, especially back man, he will be a hard match up - as we see with Stringer.
