  1. Bailey Laurie looked a class above today. I could see him pushing into the senior midfield next year. He is looking a lot stronger. He has made big improvements to his game, especially his repeat efforts.
  2. Didn’t look up to it on debut. Looks a full preseason or two away from it. We rushed him on debut, and he didn’t look up to scratch, and subsequently, was dropped. Shown good signs on the weekend. But he’ll derive a lot of benefit from a proper preseason. Then it will be easier to see how good he is. He’s a young player who needs core work, strength, and pace work. Could be something in a couple years.
  3. I’d bring in Verral. He’s fit and physical. Hes fitter than Fullerton. So he comes in. Oliver will dominate clearances anyway.
  4. I like Chandler. He is explosive, and works hard off the ball.
  5. Petracca will 110% be at Collingwood next year. That’s what I’ve heard.
  6. Next year he’ll be a force. Be a good addition. We need to keep Petty though.
  7. That’s good to hear. My eye tells me he’ll be a very good forward for us. Came in built like a twig. But has real athleticism about him, and looks to have good touch. I don’t watch the VFL anymore as I don’t get time, but on the games I’ve seen this year - Jefferson has really stood out.

Harris Andrew’s has most players for strength. Wouldn’t have JVR for strength though. A fully fit and conditioned Petty would hold his own. He’s getting there. But not quite there yet.
  9. No chance. Well picked up on. He’s a good player Chandler and his second efforts are why he’s in the side, and will remain.
  10. I agree. Lever does the same.
  11. I’d be building around Rivers, Pickett, McVee, Van Rooyan, potentially Petty if he wants to stay, Turner. We have some really good youth. I’d be looking to double down on that, as Max, May and Viney are only aging. I wouldn’t be hitching my wagon to aging warriors. They got their flag. We are no longer in the window and already have Petracca and Oliver signed to long term deals. Some rocket scientist also signed Brayshaw to a long term deal prior to that.

  13. Petracca will be in the black and white next year. Book mark it.
  14. I’d move Billings to a crumbing role, and give Kozi more on ball time. Billings can kick goals, isn’t very effective as a winger, and Kozi needs more time on ball now Petracca is out.

Unrestricted free agent. Exactly the type of player we need to target. Would allow us to push Kozi into the middle more, and not lose craft up forward.
  17. I think it might be time to put Rivers in the midfield, and have Howes take his role off half back. Run Kozi through the midfield and have Sestan fill Kozis role up forward. Oliver, Viney and Sparrow being the other mids. They need to work out who is extracting and who isn’t, as currently we have too many contesting the one football.
  18. That would be akin to appointing a ruckman as a forward line coach.
  19. Bulldogs, Hawthorn and Brisbane are below us, and they should comfortably finish above us, so we’ll probably end up with pick 6 or lower.
  20. I don’t really care about the square up. Maynard still bumps first, as opposed to do what the rest of the league is incentivized to do - which is tackle first. It’s self sacrificial to have to tackle first, but it puts the emphasis on the player. I don’t necessarily agree with it - but that’s the way the AFL has mandated it. Yet Maynard is still allowed to bump. He ruined Brayshaws career, and he will ruin more careers if not end a life, as it’s not like the old days when players came into a contest protecting themselves, as they are discouraged to do so.
  21. We won’t finish bottom 4. Bottom 6 most likely. Only a handful of players seem motivated to play for the coach. Some players that wanted out at the end of last season - in Oliver and Petty - are losing their trade value dramatically. That’s industry we are in, teams need to be forward thinking and rejuvenate their list, see problems as opportunities. We wouldn’t get anything near a first round pick for Petty this trade season, and he will still want to leave, and Oliver likewise.
  22. Top end a draft pick? Through being mediocre, trade? Or perhaps both.
  23. Pretty easy to see how firmly entrenched Goodwin is. Demonland are now vetting threads just in case anyone dare bags the anointed one.
