  1. That is a pathetically low crowd if it eventuates. Particularly for 2 Melbourne clubs on a Saturday. This would mean our rd 1 against Port drew a bigger crowd. As a club, I think we need to start pumping up our games a bit more and stressing the importance of attendance.
  2. I’m currently 20,000 feet over the NT on a flight to Singapore. My plane was delayed an hour and thankfully that meant I got to see the final quarter. I can’t wipe the smile off my face. We are capable. We are hungry. We can play our game. Each week will be a challenge until we regain some key personnel. We are going to have to fight like Demons every week. That should be the team mantra. Up the Dees!
  3. Immensely proud of the boys. I have been a Jones knocker of late and I’d like to apologise. Yes, he made errors again tonight and looked slow at times, but he put us on his back at the same time and kicked captain’s goals. Things clicked tonight in patches. We busted Our guts. Blokes put their body on the line. Hunt was magnificent. He has found a spot. Leave him there. Let him chase and attack and he will bob up and kick a couple a game. Let us go on with it next week. Must build on it.
  4. THIS injury list is growing worse by the minute. The side that takes the field tonight is the worst in 4 years.
  5. Both sides that won today had big men playing out of the square. Just saying
  6. As bad as Casey have been, I think people need to get a grip and look at our injury list. Of course we are weak atm. Half the list is injured. Pretty unfair to judge them on this effort.
  7. The obvious way to counter the problem of having so many mids who have poor foot skills and who tend to bomb it in, is to actually play preuss as the deep forward swapping with Gawn. That at least draws a defender and gives us a chance of marking when the mids bomb it in As has already been pointed out, if you do make a change and bring in a tall, we must have some ground ball players. I’d like to see Garlett and Preuss included next week.
  8. I raised this at the time and people here said that club employees can support who they like and that he had played with the Toiges so it was fine for him to support them. I am still staggered that people can feel this way. He is either with us, or with them. Move him on.
  9. Is it too early to start a pick 1 thread??
  10. This might be the best post ever written on Demonland
  11. ?? yep and we got the Wagners. Silly selection
  12. I am just suggesting that there are better deck chairs to shuffle. We don't seem to shuffling the chairs that are out of place. The issue is the connection between forward and mid. How does stretch or wagner improve us in this area. Both can't kick. It'll be all run and bomb stuff from the both of them.
  13. i would have thought that our problems start with our inability to lower our eyes and hit targets, due to the fact that none of our mids are skilled by foot, and that due to our preference to bomb the ball long and high to a contest, a tall contested marking option like Preuss would have been logical. Given our inability to rove the ball inside fifty at the moment, I would have thought a fit Garlett would have been an option. Before you tell me he is underdone, lets remember he did a whole preseason and we played a VFL player last week who had been on our list 15 days. Insert other media
  14. Overweight or not, he is not designed to play as a deep forward. Move him.
  15. If Petracca starts as the deep forward again, I will be heading to the bar to watch the rest of what will be a miserable night.
  16. FFS . that is truly shuffling deck chairs then and says to me the coaches are showing blind faith in a group that has not gelled this year.
  17. Have Essendon got clash strip this year? I mean, we haven’t had a home fixture against them in son long, it hasn’t been an issue. Or are they still treated differently by the AFL on this issue ?
  18. According to this list:- https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-03-13/the-full-afl-injury-list-postjlt-update- we have 15 payers listed as injured. That is an incredible number. By comparison, Port Adelaide have 9. I don't mean to be an alarmist, but I think we will struggle in the early part of this season, and hopefully come good in the second half. However, the loss of Hannan is significant as ANB looks to have gone backwards and Stretch is not up to the standard required for AFL . When we let Kent go, it was hoped that natural development of these fringe types, add JKH, would help fill a void. Spargo has been underwhelming, Garlett is out...we got a small forward problem.
  19. I'm more concerned by the bias umpiring in Q4 of the MEL v North game. It was bltantly obvious that the two teams were subject to different rules and that the AFL have a bit riding on North Women's team being winners. They will be hoping North host the final, which they'll put on in Tasmania. It was a farce and when that deliberate out of bounds was paid, if it wasn't already obvious from the free kick for in the back, it was apparent that the fix was in.
  20. Some pretty ordinary photos doing the rounds of social media showing Jesse’s off-season ‘training’. It should be pretty clear to all why we weren’t desperate to keep him. he is a kid who is entitled to a good time, but there is a enough evidence out there for people to paint a picture of why the MFC decided to move on Hogan.
  21. What are you on about?
  22. HE won’t be booed and doesn’t deserve to be. We won’t play them at the G anyway. Will be up in Alice or Darwin no doubt
  23. Anyone that thinks the players don’t love Goodwin and play for the bloke must have rocks in their head. The buy in this year and with the guys we have recruited has been immense.
  24. Spot on. There is more to it than the go home factor. I can’t believe it didn’t surface this trade period.
