GIving up these games in the NT is still [censored] me off. It’s always against an SA and WA side who gain more from playing there than we do, other than financially. The support for both sides is always far greater. It also makes it a 50:50 scenario, which would otherwise favour us at The G. When will we drop this ?

Anyone in the market for one of those classic blazers. I imagine they are very rare. Not my item, simply came across it. When you oook at the photo closely, it looks as though Todd Viney didn’t think much of his ahhaha https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AFL-Melbourne-Demons-RARE-Player-Issued-CLUB-BLAZER/264002405995?hash=item3d77c5066b:g:EwsAAOSw3qRbqzTP

A lot of people were keen on this bloke 3 years ago. Just been delisted by hawthorn. Any chance that we would look at him? We’ve got some list spots to fill
-
I'd actually like to see someone wear the number 12 in honour of Col next year. Perhaps someone like Jones, who played with Col.

Does it matter

https://www.vicpolicenews.com.au/news/motorist-dies-in-irymple-collision i can’t give you a link that includes nanes, but these are the details. Just keep his family in your thoughts
-
I can now confirm that it is a sad truth. I am sure details will surface soon, but I think we should just be respectful and keep the family and Col in our prayers tonight. Before any speculation starts, it was a motor vehicle accident.

‘landers it’s with a real heavy heart that I deliver this news, but I have it on very good authority that Col Sylvia has passed away in a car accident over the weekend. Please keep his family in your prayers. It has not hit the media yet, and if the mods wanna pull the thread, then I understand. Col was a great contributor to our club through some dark days and we should remember him this way. rip Col

HE won’t be booed and doesn’t deserve to be. We won’t play them at the G anyway. Will be up in Alice or Darwin no doubt

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Leoncelli_36 replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
Anyone that thinks the players don’t love Goodwin and play for the bloke must have rocks in their head. The buy in this year and with the guys we have recruited has been immense. -
Spot on. There is more to it than the go home factor. I can’t believe it didn’t surface this trade period.
-
WAtch us use 6 and 23 for May and KK
-
LET the meltdown begin. Bent over and [censored] reamed again
-
I’d accept May, KK and 23 as a break even. What we do with 23 is up to the FD and I would back them to use it wisely. Anything short of this would be a fail as far as I am concerned.
-
Did he had any ideas on what we’d get for Hogan
-
The fact May has just said he is happy to go to 'Any Victorian Club' means we are in competition for his services and will need to give up pick 5, should we receive it.
-
But I thought we were in the window? An 18 year old second rounder going to make an impact next year you reckon? Lockhart could be the next Keilty or could be the next Fritsch. There is no point arguing, everyone rates players and decisions differently. I think we've been dudded.
-
Yep and he will be a direct swap for Hogan. Who do you rate more? Who has more upside? In 5 years, who wins that deal? We PUT Hogan out there and said you can take him, he is contracted, nothing but 2 first rounders. Freo called our bluff and we again pay overs for a bloke. Yes he will fill a need, but how many times have we been the club to yield in trade negotiations? This time we held the cards and still we lost the hand. That's my opinion of what has unfolded and I won't be changing it, unless miraculously tomorrow we land something else.
-
So remind me, how many people have we taken off our list and then tell me who you reckon we are replacing them with?
-
great deflection. Not what I have said at all. I could add Shiel, Gaff, Scully, Wingard....come on..you understand the point...there are players that are of more value than KK on the market and we have been hamstrung by the deal that has taken until the trade deadline to unfold for Hogan.
-
11 and 2nd rounder is about the same as what we are getting now if the reports are true. We will get Pick 5 which goes to the Suns for May. So if we had the balls, we would have made the Suns deal May for Pick 11 and a sweetner, but we didn't. We thought we'd get more. If the reports are true, we get May and KK, who we could have had for a thrird-rounder a week ago. Geez we have really won on this.
-
Nor me, but I don't think they are rubbish, and if you are going on that logic, what excites you about KK? You sound like a poster who creamed his pants over Harley Balic last year
-
So you reckon Mahoney's big coup for the trade period was Preuss (A VFL ruckman) and KK (a bloke who has played little football in several seasons). If that is all that we were in to, then we are sitting on our hands. Seeing hawthorn once again top up their list with QUALITY and Geelong adding Gary Rohan and Luke Dalhaus, makes me concerned about sides who finished around us doing more than we are o improve their lists. I fear that many hear just think AFL success is a natural progression and that we have the list to succeed because we made it to a Prelim and next year we will be better. If you dont continually improve your list, you are treading water or going backwards. What we have built thus far will hold us in good stead. However, there has been a departure of depth at the MFC and at this stage, as it sits right now, today, the 16th of October, we have landed one player...Braydon Preuss. Mahoney surely wasn't talking about him when he made comments last week.
