Watts with his ability and brain should be a leader at the club not being babied like he still is in his first year.

The only thing I have confidence in is the coaching set up and the administration. The list is another story. However with those foundations in place good decisions for the future will be made. in the meantime it really burns watching Petterd, Stefen Martin, Wines, McCrae, Bompa, Sloane, Rockcliff etc all on fire while our plodders run around in a dysfunctional Casey setup.

Don't think Roos would want any sympathy. He knows what he's up against and will be up for the challenge.

Expect Blease to be given a run soon to prove himself. That will determine his fate. Pickles Evans is lucky that he is contracted IMO.

Still think Kirk is in the box seat. Doubt it would be a past coach, perhaps Ratten would be the only possibility. How Ling and Kirk compare have no idea.

Overall I have been a Watts supporter but yesterday he took lack of effort, disengagement and poor attitude to a new level. That doesn't mean I think he should be traded but it wasn't good enough and for that there are no excuses.

Being a bit soft on Watts - he started poorly in the first 30 seconds of the game and I remember thinking he's going to be bad today. Looked half asleep. Good players have some leadership about them. Unfortunately Jack has none. This is coming from someone who has always defended Jack on this forum. Today however I really felt disillusioned.

I'm a fan as well. Bomber Thompson said he drove the standards when he was at Geelong. Has the right mix down to earth and relaxed communication and steely resolve. To be appointed captain of that Geelong team ahead of Ablett and numerous other stars speaks volumes. Two years under Roos and he'd be ready to go. Hope the Tom Harley thing is crap.

Well worth a look at Roos post game press conference. Main message was that the pre-season will be huge. Doesn't sugar coat anything and you feel he's right on top of it. It's obvious though that he needs to commit to the third year. Just another 12 months will be useless.
