What Lake did was highly dangerous - not only did he potentially obstruct his airway he risked activating a reflex mediated by the carotid sinus that slows the heart and drops the blood pressure leading to loss of consciousness and possibly cardiac arrest. Hence Peter Larkins comment that if he was the club doctor and was close by he would have no hesitation running on the ground and attempting to push Lake off. The AFL has to make a stand about this.

I think most supporters, like the players, have mid season fatigue and are getting grumpy. The initial excitement has worn off and the stark reality becomes obvious. The list is shite and many on I it don't and never will have what it takes. It's a bit irksome seeing him in post match interviews bemoaning silly mistakes and poor turnovers when he is a part of the problem.

I am not a Grimes hater and have never posted any criticism iof him before. I think it is clear he is a very average footballer and his onfield performances are no where near what is expected of a Captain.

Grimes should be made to walk back to Melbourne. You can't be captain and consistently make so many skill errors. Ridiculous.
