WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JEFF GARLETT

Lots of talk that we'll pay 23 for Lamumba, so maybe they'll take 28 instead. So in effect we'd get Lamumba and Garlett for pick 23... I'd take it. -

Was dropped last year to find some form and instead of working to get back he sulked and was a bit part player... Definitely wouldn't give up much, but if this is the wake up call he needs then there is a lot of upside!! Roos v Malthouse is a big factor here! -
2014 Player Review - # 5 Jimmy Toumpas
watchtheeyes replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Does anybody remember that small passage of play down the left wing where Jimmy collected the ball and chipped it over to Salem who I think delivered inside 50..? Anyway, it was along those lines and I giggled at the prospect of this happening many more times over the next 10 years. -
Worried and disgruntled about Roos' limited tenure
watchtheeyes replied to Curry & Beer's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was never under the impression that Roos was ever staying belong his stated tenure and I am extremely comfortable with Goodwin taking over, Roos to godfather him. -
"Building Blocks" being the key expression there. Step by step.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
watchtheeyes replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
Stretch just smashed his 3km coming in second by a nose out of the midfielders. Not out of the realm of possibility that a club puts their hand up first round. -
Nat Edwards ✔ @NatEdwards_AFL Follow With one lap to go in the 3km time trial, Christian Petracca has pulled out. Looks to be limping a bit #DraftCombine 2:02 PM - 3 Oct 2014

Can we package up one of our players as a sweetener?
-
Hrovat anyone?

I find his comments amazing. He disagreed with the game plan at the start of the year? At the start of the year Roos was just trying to institute basic behaviours, 'non-negotiables'. So what, Sam didn't agree with the non-negotiables, righto champ then you won't play AFL footy. He had the perfect opportunity to learn how to PLAY AFL from one of the best minds in the game, and instead he sulked because he didn't get to play the way he wanted to play. Find it very unlikely his attitude will change before its too late. Bye bye.

Kids obviously got a big attitude problem. Wants to do it his way or no way at all... Glad hes gone.

2014 Player Review - # 5 Jimmy Toumpas
watchtheeyes replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Us and multiple other teams overlooked, it happens every draft. Besides, just because some other fella has performed well doesn't mean Toumpas wont. Its unrelated. And I think everyone has had blinkers about Jimmy, I thought he was more than capable when he played this year and was unlucky to be moved out. Last year was his debut year. Gee whiz. -
2014 Player Review - # 5 Jimmy Toumpas
watchtheeyes replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
When Roos has spoken of our 'good young players' in the past, including yesterday's presser, he spoke of the usuals: Tyson, Viney, Salem, JKH PLUS Toumpas... Where this animosity has come from, for a 2ND YEAR PLAYER, is beyond me. -

After listening to Roos I'm fairly certain Clark goes to Geelong, pick goes to Pies, and Lumumba comes to us... -

I've found this whole Mitch Clark furore interesting. We didn't have him several months ago, we had nothing, he was gone. Now we've got the opportunity to add a creative, running halfback to our list (which fills a gaping hole) without losing any draft picks; just a bloke who's busted and we previously thought was gone. This is a big win for us in the context of the whole year. Everyone is talking Clark is going to get there and dominate, my suspicion is those delicate Hammies aren't gonna take too long. -

Beams is a bonafide star who plays most games. Mitch Clark is a broken down depressive who's mental illness was precipitated by recurring, chronic soft tissue problems after breaking his navicular bone... I think some perspective is needed here. -

Would leave Reid alone, he's bloody useless! Membrey I rate though and reckon he's been bloody unlucky not to get a look in, would definitely bring him in! -

If I was Blease, Tapscott or Strauss and I was offered a contract of any sort, at any club versus going to the PSD then I would be very stupid not to take it... Have a feeling Blease thinks he's a lot better than what he is (or has shown).

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA

Except Mal is also an elite kick... but agree its a bloody good trade. Think he will help us enormously. -

Wasting our time on Malceski.......... I think the 2012 GF when Malceski and Shaw dominated from the back completely debunks your theory. Saturday was one game. Obviously the mids are vital, but run and creativity from the back are equally as important. -
So moving away from the vitriol for a moment, if he was to head to Geelong.. what do they have that we/you would want that would make us happy?
-
Jetta, Rohan... They have leg speed, they just played like spuds. Reid is hopeless, want nothing to do with him!
-
That's pretty short sighted, just because they're not bottom six now doesn't mean they wont be in a couple of years. Collingwood have issues, if he is too narrow minded to see that then he's got what's coming to him.
