Ron I just don't know if loyalty is, or rather should be, a material consideration. We need to be heartless; carrying a sub-par player on the basis of the fact they 'stuck with us in the tough times' is a sure fire way to build a club of legend blokes and mediocre footy players.

Points for effort though. -
@adamwbaldwin I'm convinced they won't trade Trengove unless Pick 12 gets a bigger deal over the line. Despite insistence that Dangerfield isn't on the table, I suspect they are trying to build an offer the Crows can't refuse. I'm expecting something big out of Melbourne in the next few days. Murmurs about Watts on the table now. Tell you what, if it turns out the boys complete some epic trade along the lines of what GNF was riddling about and it involves a couple of Jacks then bloody bravo in keeping it in house for so long! -

Roos isn't just going to throw the bloke away. Seriously people, if we package 12 and 2 and get a bonafide gun how would you feel then? Amazing, watts has shown just as much loyalty but if this happened to him most people would be over the moon! -

Separate emotion, we're not going to trade 3 & 12 for peanuts.. This coaching group aren't idiot, they're cooking something transformational. -

This is only happening if we package 3 and 12... So the question is, who is it? -

Seemed to be fairly dominant at NEAFL and our 2nd round on Frost seems well overs, both of them together seems appropriate. Reckon this isn't outside the realms of possibility. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH

"Last week, Stretch was one of the SANFL’s top performers at the AFL Combine, finishing in the top 10 of three events" Burglary. -
You can only do what other clubs and players will allow you to do.. I'd prefer they take Brayshaw and co rather than waste a top pick on a B grade midfielder.
-
To say none of those 4 have any currency is ridiculous, each of them would be worth at least a 2nd rounder right now. Roos obviously sees them as part of the solution. He has repeatedly stated that he rates Toumpas, which by the way I agree with. I don't know if anyone else caught the Dees v Richmond game on Fox Footy the other night (it was splendid viewing), but I thought Toumpas was excellent. Several very damaging kicks and real intent with everything he did.
-
So we're not going to get that gun midfielder then... A lot rests on the shoulders of Trengove and Toumpas, big year for those boys!
-
Look at their list when all is said and done... Shaw, Patfull, Davis, Griffen, Shiel, Tomlinson, Treloar, Ward, Cameron, Boyd, Patton..... I know where I'd prefer to be!
-
.@barrettdamian: Then another deal to potentially happen, Carlton to get Jaksch and Mark Wiley + 19 in exchange for pick 7 . @barrettdamian then says picks 4 & 7 will then be used to lure Griffen away from the Bulldogs by the GWS #NABTradeRadio That happens... and we're going to the draft with # 2 & 3!

Haha, just about unanimous so far, let me play devils advocate. Its been said before by someone on DL that winning is just as important as talent in creating a culture. He really didn't have too bad a year last year. Him running around with Jones and co will definitely boost our midfield and what's more, we can still take Brayshaw and a quality youngster at # 6. He would also help to educate some of the younger fellas before he moves on. -

Hearing Dogs are floating Cooney.. If they offered Cooney + # 6 for our # 2 (in the knowledge they'll take McCartin or Wright), would you do it? -

I should add that if we then show meaningful improvement next year, then we'll be in a far better position to attract that gun in the next trade/FA period (Danger, Sloane, Tex etc) -

While it would've been nice to pick up a ready made, midfield star, if we bring in Lamumba, Garlett, & Frost then go to the draft for any 2 of Brayshaw, Petracca, McCartin then I'd be happy (I prefer Brayshaw and Petracca). -
Who cares, seriously. Get over it.

He was no good at ANYTHING under Malthouse. First half of 2013 and before he was a jet. Reckon this is very much a personality clash thing with Malthouse and hold hope that Roosy will manage him better. -

When he's on he's making 6 - 8 tackles a game, find me another player in our side who does that plus kicks goals?
