I am bemused by some of the angst on here. The intra club isn't for the supporters, it's for what is considered the best preparation of the season. I'll be there and look forward to getting a footy fix. Bear in mind that the players will be taking this session seriously. Players like Bate, who wants to re-establish himself, Morton, who wants to create a position for himself down back, Dunn, who knows he has to put up or shut up, Watts, who knows every eye will be trained on him, Trengove, who's stepping out in front of many for the first time as a leader, Clark, who wants to impress at a new club, Davey, who is returning to the future, all of these players have something on the line at 3pm today. Every player wants to line up in round 1 at the G, so I doubt they'll be taking too many half measures. There's no doubt it's equivalent to dancing with your Sister, but you still want to execute every move well and impress the on-lookers. If there's a few less people there today I'll get out of the car park quicker.7 points

Many here think we were ripped off with Scully compensation. Gaff has shown his worth as a legitimate pick 4 with some years of development. If you won't pay both picks for Gaff, there's inconsistency.6 points

I personally don't give a crap about the PR aspect of this one session/game/training/whatever at Casey if it helps us win games .6 points

I would take a lot more out of tactics than individual performances. This radical long kicking strategy has also been prominent at training sessions and was no doubt a clear instruction.2 points

Stef Martin's leg-break kick went through for behind ... leg-break and MFC footballers should never be in the same sentence just going off to find a defibrillator2 points

Not bad actually . Very Russian sounding , like a propaganda song for factory workers . Could be the first and last time we hear it for a year or two .1 point

Green machine, whats with these posted images? can't you post a pic properly? It just comes up as (PostedImage PostedImage PostedImage PostedImage PostedImage PostedImage)??? Is there something wrong with the computer? Rarely do they show an image.1 point

Just finished watching first half. After FOXTEL saying they have so many cameras following the play. and wont miss anything. They then miss the most basic behind the play incident. Dermie then has to explain what he thinks he saw. (totally amateurish) One thing I have learned from the first half. Tigers are crap and kangas are worse. GO DEES1 point

Great mark on the 4/8 siren by Mitch Clark followed by a pressure goal. The guy can play.1 point

I think our real intra club will be alot like that U23's game that was played last week. Nobody outside the MFC will know about it, most likely out a Casey and during a closed session. Neeld doesnt give much up imo, if we had a full on practice match today with huge crowds every other club would know what we are about. Its that simple1 point

Its not too bad actually...sorta sounds like a Footy club song..unlike some others too bad theyll never get to sing it !!! :) :)1 point

Trade 1 x Compo pick and Cale Morton for Gaff or even Morton fro Gaff straight swap1 point
-
Yes, a trade is the only garaunteed way to get proper value out of those picks. Would I trade both for a 20 midfielder with a very bright future? Yes, because that's what we lost when we got those picks...1 point

The most pleasing thing i took from the interview was that Mark is confident. He has 2 mentors Craig and Malthouse he can bounce off when needed. The game plan will change at times when needed. The other point is that Andy Maher is such a [censored], and Tim Watson does not want people to remember he was a coach!1 point

I couldn't care less about the format of the intra-club. Just PLEASE no injuries!!!1 point

Think of it like dancing with your sister - you want to look good, but don't get too physical.1 point

Absolute garbage. What do you think tribalism is, & Rivalries are made of. This is footy, not the local neighborhood 'Days of our lives'. It's combative & meant to be. If your worried about 'a look' or a 'politically correct image', maybe you should take up a 'priesthood', or maybe not, hmmn, a squeaky clean image????? The MCC, there's ya go!1 point

Know mate !!! Don't drop it. That is what a polite, gentile, politically correct Melbourne would do over the last 45 Years. AFL is War on turf. Well it is, IF One wants to be a winner at it. We need to show More Passion & venom at our enemies, footy enemies... If we are to have ruggedness bred back into our souls. Let it happen, and Lets Get Mean & nasty again like Barass had & tried to instill into a group that had Given Up The Ghost long before...... Checkers & Smiths... It's that mean & nasty hunger edge that I want to see back. From the Stands as well. Get up & fight you bastards. .1 point

I dont think anyone has made that statement in this thread on Gys You have only said in 100 words or more what most have said. FWIW, he is 20yo and played only 18 games in 2 years. In that time he was managed to scoop 2 Rising Star nominations from few appearances. I think criticism of his kicking is a little pre mature as a young kid in an overwhelmed midfield finds his feet. There is enough to be excited about with this player as he matures.1 point
