I think we've met, but I'd just like to say hi and remind you all that I am still the teams most important player by a country mile.

Amen to that Jared. Welcome back. Im feeling the love.

It would be even better to have you back if the big girl Jeff White would only help you out instead of squibbing it...

Hi Kojak,

Jared here. I work extremely hard to help my teammates out in contests but when I need help a senior player squibs it. I will have some harsh words with Jeffery later.

Love Jared.

great to see rivers back in the team, although mooney soundly beat him today... lucky for us he didn't kick straight... will improve in the coming weeks...

Mooney was on fire today and would have kicked many more on anyone else.

Beat him with a stick Jared... with.a.stick!!!

Completely inexcusable lack of aggression there from Whitey. Almost ruined a perfectly good match from him.

Lets not forget that Rivers hasn't played in about 18 months. It will take him a while to adjust to the speed of the game, but still, some of his spoils were first class. He knows how to position himself better than anyone in the team.

In a team like ours this year (one that's going to lose LOTS of games) Rivers is our most important players because he is damage control. Holds up our backline, as teh commentators noted he is terrific as a loose man but one on one aint that great. Mooney kicked poorly today and missed opportunities. Rivers definitley has to play loose in the backline, thats when he does his best work

Rivers > everyone

Welcome back, sir.

Great to have you back jared - you are the major steadying influence on our backline.

Remember hearing Nathan Buckley talking up Rivers's last year and saying what a huge loss he is to OUR team - he was right too.

His return will bring re-newed confidence.

Go Dee's

Moose

By a long way our most important player

He only did it three times !!!!!!!!!

Riv was our biggest loss last year injury wise. He brings structure to the backline. They looked so much more comfortable with him there, whether he beats his opponent or not, he brings that structure. Thats what makes him so important to this team. People walk taller with him there. Carroll looked like he had 1000 kgs lifted from his shoulders today. It was nice to see!

Good luck for the rest of the year Riv.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
