Ins and outs

Good to see Rivers finally back. Now we'll have 2 defenders. Pity Geelong have 14 forwards.

He's been gone so long I had to ask my daughter who he was at the Team Melbourne clinic.

Ins:C Johnson Wonaeamirri Rivers Moloney Frawley

Outs:Weetra Bode

Best changes so far this season. Great to see Rivers back.

so with the extended bench who will get dropped for the actual game? i'd like to see rivers frawley wonaemirri and moloney play so who gets the axe?

id say garland will get the chop.. frawley will come in and id like to see him go straight to johnson! quick tall and strong.

Why the hell does Ch.10 insist on spelling Brent's last name MAloney, instead of MOloney! Idiots

The bench should be: Morton, Frawley, Buckley, Wonaeamirri and Moloney (remembering that Davey is unlikely to play)

Can't wait to finally see Rivers. It's been far too long.

MELBOURNE

B: Paul Wheatley, Nathan Carroll, Jared Rivers

HB: Clint Bartram, Daniel Bell, Lynden Dunn

C: Brad Green, Brock McLean, Colin Sylvia

HF: Cameron Bruce, Brad Miller, Paul Johnson

F: Aaron Davey, David Neitz, Russell Robertson

Foll: Jeff White, James McDonald, Nathan Jones

I/C (from): Simon Buckley, James Frawley, Austin Wonaeamirri, Cale Morton, Colin Garland, Chris Johnson, Brent Moloney

In: C.Johnson, Wonaeamirri, Rivers, Moloney, Frawley

Out: Weetra, Bode

bugger what happened to the email?...ah well..

Be interesting to see who DOES line up

jeez imagine davey and aussie in the same forward line!

forgive my ignorance, but isnt aussie a rookie and can therefore not play? have i missed something?

Grimes has been placed on the Long Term Injury List.

I think the first four named on the bench will play and C Johnson to come in if Davey doesn't play. We will inject a quick tall in Frawley, a quick small Aussie and Rivers for two guys that can't get near it and one that needs a lot more development. Good bench if we line up with Frawley, Buckley, Aussie, Morton that gives you a snap shot of our future average age under 20.

Complete agree with that bench. Would've prefered to see Maric in action but oh well.

Good to see Frawley being called up after i literally just last night started the thread asking why he wasnt playing :P

Rivers strengthens the backline soooo much. Hopefully he is fit now and doesn't break down again. Best line up we've fielded for a while I think.

So Aussie to cover Davey. Moloney, Buckley, Morton as midfield rotations. Frawley as back up KPP. Normally there's a ruckman on the bench but both are named on field.

And yes people it's Moloney. And PettErd. AN E PEOPLE. PETTERD.

Good luck spelling Wonawkiheza3hget8LOL's name though

They've been spelling it like that for two years, you'd think they'd contact Brent and tell him he's not spelling his name correctly.

Another thing that shits me is every week Robert Walls says Adam Fiora. Her name is Princess Fiora.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
