1 - Moloney was still on the ground in the second half and started to get some of the ball

2 - Morton showed some courage

3 - Weetra did a few nice things

4 - Newton showed again that is a viable forward target

5 - Buckley showed a bit

6 - PJ showed a bit and always chased hard when it was his turn

There were no positives from this game. It was good old MFC giving us an insight into what were in store for this year.

How many times have we been beaten by more than 100 points? It's is beyond the joke. I'm an MCC member and an MFC member and we have only dished out 1 - 100 point smashing in our 150 year history. So what if we are the oldest Professional Football club in the world, compared to the other foundation teams we are a joke head to head. Stop looking at the past of how great we were 60 years ago, cause what matters is NOW, and currently we suck.

Clint, this drove me mad yesterday. THey did not run on after a contest, they did not man up, they did not tackle and they lost their feet. I reckon that if we got half a team from this board together, got onto the turps and then played us yesteday, we would have been harder at it and kept our feet more. Hell we would have been half a chance to win!

I'm surprised about people thinking Morton is not ready to play this year due to his apparent lack of body size.

This kid has the footy smarts and skill that we desperately lack and I’m not concerned about his lack of muscle as some...just look at Dale Thomas at Collingwood as a prime example what a young kid without any muscle can achieve with a bit of nous and class.

Of course he body will not stand up to 22 rounds yet...but expect him to play at least 12 games.

Very hard to find positives other than the obvious two: PJ and Morton.

PJ had what was probably his best game since his first half up at the SCG the day he ran into the fence. His first, second and third efforts today left a lot

of the onballers to shame. How he did not get in the best, let alone our best, in the papers is a disgrace.

Morton, despite his obvious rawness, showed more than enough in his debut. The contest where he put his skinny body on the line and took a big hit

in the last half showed that he wont be overawed or timid despite his physical shortcomings.

And thats it. How people could laud Robbo on that performance defies belief. His selection in the best in 1 paper bordered on disbelief. He had 3 posessions

before that last 15 minutes. 3 posessions in a team that had almost as many inside 50s as Hawthorn did. Junk time goals/stats mean nothing. Exactly like

the North Melbourne game two weeks ago where he was sightless until the last 15 minutes, and again got 3 junk time goals.

I've never realised until yesterday just how slow Newton is, he looked terrible, no second efforts, he really needs to work on the small things in his game. For a kid

playing his 10th or 11th game, that level of disinterest was alarming.

Unfortunately this is the sport of Australian Rules Football - it's not track and field athletics. Buckley's ability to run fast does not make him a footballer any more than Mark Jamar is one because he is tall. What's happened to all the FOOTBALLERS?

Also, PJ took his second ever overhead mark as an MFC listed player - brilliant....

So I guess the Saints score of 6.15.51 makes them pretty ordinary as well !!!
