A Novel approach to the fine art of Tanking

Recommended Posts

I was flicking through some photos on GSP images where I noticed a few extra pictures of Melboune's recent Leadership press conference

This image caught my eye and I thought maybe this was Carltank's novel new way to take Tanking to a new level, although I'm not sure that they have got approval to wear these during games yet

What's "incedent" (???indecent) about that. Please explain what it has to do with tanking.....are those weights tanks?

OK - Let me explain then.....

Firstly - When talking about Carlton and "tanking", does it make sense to you that I'm making a joke at there expense?....and if you can let your imagination run wild a little bit, maybe you would find it as amusing as what I did.....

So I thought it kind of fitting that there training device is designed to slow them down (whilst wearing them), and thus make it a lot easier to lose games deliberately (tanking) and they are the masters of it aren't they?

I can't imagine them winning with those weight harnesses on....Can you? Why keep all of there Tanking tactics so hidden and stealth like...Why not just let it all hang out...WE WANT TO LOSE! It now seams teams are going to go to the extreme in order to tank games....Maybe this is the ultimate solution......Now are you getting it?

Secondly - Carlton left themselves open to this amusement, when they decided to make a joke of there efforts against teams towards the end of last season. Remember?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean about your "incident" comment - Perhaps you should just get over it, and get on with making fun at the other team's stupidity, and how they think that they will be better off with "tanking" generated high draft picks. There lack of honesty will come back to bite them in time....just wait and see.

The beat goes on.

Fremantle wins in Pretoria conceding a few late goals to make the Champs of Tanking look respectable.

It's in their blood now - Forgotten how to win, experts on losing

I bet they remember when they come to play us though. Judd will set himself for that game no doubt (his last game?)

Judd has already cottoned on to the Carlton culture. Apparently, his progress from groin surgery is slower than was originally hoped for and there are some question marks about whether the type of surgery was appropriate. Seems that more radical surgery might have been called for but he took a punt on the Sydney surgeon. Could the man be tanking his own recovery?

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
